Blum Inc. 71M2550 Clip[ Top Full Overlay Screw-On Cabinet Door Hinges with 100-Degree Opening Angle

I have numerous Blum hinges on my kitchen cabinets. My existing hinges are 15 yrs. old, and only about 5% needed to be replaced. I could not match the Blum numbers on the back of the hinge, as these have been superseded by another part number. In speaking with a Blum representative, she advised she could not give me a replacement number over the phone as my hinge must first be inspected but would replace any faulty hinges free of charge if I shipped them back to Blum at my cost. However, I really didn't want the aggravation of having no doors on the cabinets for several weeks. Moreover, I was a bit perplexed at the notion the manufacturer couldn't cross reference their own former part number to a newer one which made me wonder what other issues might arise after mailing them back my faulty hinges.After doing some extensive web searching, I identified CabinetParts.com as a company who offers fantastic technical support in helping the customer correctly identify the replacement hinge. The rep said mine was easy, and he quickly told me the replacement number, and importantly, advised that I must also order the base plate (Blum BH175H7100-Mounting Plate; ASIN: B0006HFAMA) as the newer type hinge would not fit my plates.While I was expecting this project to be prone to hassles, CabinetParts.com made this hassle free. The hinges and base plates aligned perfectly with already drilled holes, and the degree swing and self close style perfectly matched my older hinges. They also offer an online video showing how to adjust European type hinges, if needed. For roughly $43, all of my kitchen cabinets now open and close properly like they did when new. I would buy from this company again without hesitation, and I was impressed with their friendly and outstanding customer service. I still strongly recommend doing your own homework as I was able to first identify from CabinetParts website what I thought was the correct replacement hinge but took comfort when confirmed independently by their rep.

The media could not be loaded. This hinge was a perfect fit for my old Blum hinge. I got the number from the bottom of the cup on the old hinge 90.255 As far as I can tell, this is the only number that will do you any good. The other stamped stuff anywhere else on the hinge is of no use for finding the correct part. The video is before replacement of the one bad hinge and after.

We have the same hinges going bad. I leave the mounting plate on the cabinet, change the bad hinge out, then snap the door back on.When I ordered the first hinges, I ordered BL-173L8100 mounting plates but I'm not shure who told me I needed that #, the first 2 hinges I changed them till I found out that wasn't need. Yours could be different.When the first hinge went bad I changed both hinges but kept the good hinge. The next time another cabinet hinge went bad I used the old good hinge. Just alternate after that.I wish I would have kept the bad hinges, then when I got a good collection of them I could send them in.As I write this I'm looking at a different vender on Amazon that is cheaper if you buy a pack, but it doesn't say what brand.Now for the rating, I don't know if I should give it a 1 star or 5 stars. I'm retired and this is the first I've had to change hinges and I've asked someone in there 70's if they ever had to change cabinet hinges and they said no.To the companies defense these hinges are more complex and they are adjustable and easy to change, but they should last longer then 10-14 years.
