Good Price Point
Great product, good price point. The portability to take into the field is exactly what I needed. I have an at-home sensory array that it seamlessly connects with allowing me to monitor the data continuously. Would buy again.

Works great!!
The media could not be loaded. The GQ GMC-320 Plus is an excellent tool for checking radiation levels. It’s easy to use, accurate, and lightweight. The real-time monitoring is very handy, and I love that it makes a clicking sound for radiation detection. The rechargeable battery lasts a long time, and the data logging feature lets me track and analyze readings on my computer. The only minor issue is that the screen can be hard to read in bright sunlight.Overall, it’s a great value and perfect for anyone wanting to monitor radiation. Highly recommended!

This is one of the most affordable well rated consumer units. It's my first - and good so far.
I ordered this after doing some internet research over a few weeks, checking for used and new units on the usual places. A big selling point is that the maker/seller GC GMC Electronics has good customer support. In my case, I plugged it in for charging and then started making the setup selections (backlight time out etc). While still plugged in to USB charging, I noticed the radiation readings were 0.000 Even after a factory reset (doesn't ruin unit calibration, don't worry) it was still zero. I was ready to return the unit to the seller, when I thought I'd disconnect from USB and try using a bit more. Either it was the USb connection, or maybe that the unit isn't 'ON' for testing when you're in setup mode. In any case, it works fine. Hope I never need it now, except to measure Brazil Nuts and Fiestaware shards! A minor issue, the wrist strap broke immediately. I guess that's better than breaking when I'm using the unit and relying on the strap. I'll probably open the unit and put a stronger wrist strap in eventually and plan on getting a case of some kind. These units use a glass (or maybe two glass) tubes; they are fragile - treat them very lightly! Good little device, great seller.

Works great, has a great sound
This Geiger counter works great and is easy to use. The clicks sound great too. The interface is easy to use, and you can turn the clicks and alarm on and off, have it display as a graph or not, and switch between units. It also arrived fully charged, and after a few weeks the charge indicator is still showing as full.I've always wanted a Geiger counter, but I finally bought this one to test my cat after a radioactive iodine treatment. We brought our cat home as early as possible, and it was both fun an enlightening to watch as our cat easily hit 5000 count at first (and hearing the clicks race), and is now reading at a much lower 50. As radiation can't be detected with normal human senses, it would have been all to easy to forget and let our cat back on our laps too early. As it was, we ended up holding off on normal interactions with our cat for longer than the minimum recommendation. It's also fun to show off. Would buy again.

GQ GMC-320 Plus Geiger Counter, good buy
Its nice and light, easy to use, and seems pretty sensitive, although this is the only Geiger counter I've used. It picked up the natural radioactivity of potassium in potash fertilizer from the garden shop. It also identified a small vase as radioactive, when I had no idea it was, that got moved quick, lol. Welding rods and old Vaseline glass statue of a pony registered. It doesn't just blurt out a good estimate, give it a min or so to get a solid reading if it's low level stuff. Hot stuff starts the clicks quit noticibly, tells you it's active, but leave it for a solid reading. Just a min or so. It's got a lot of display modes, that's nice, you can visualize the data however suits you best instead of a one screen fits all readout.I'm really pleased.********************************************6-1-2022 update.I take this thing everywhere, it's still working great! Most days it come to work with me, and every so often I download the history to save as file. It's been dropped a few times, thankfully nothing broke, and the battery may need to be replaced soon ish as I get a day, maybe a day n half usage. This is like 1 year and 9 months down the road with orig batt, not bad at all!Though I own several more expensive counters now, and several with alpha particle capabilities, I still use this all the time. The support team and forum are great for hammering out problems, like using their software or connection issues to GMC map etc.Solid product, still 100% satisfied nearly 2 years later. Thanks GQ!

Near perfect for my needs
It came early, the included battery was showing 98% charged, and I ran it continuously for about 2.5 days before needing to charge it. One note about the battery level measurement is that it appears to be quite non-linear. After day 1 it still showed 85% charge, and I expected more than 2.5 days based on this. I suspect it is based on voltage, and has no choice but to follow the shape of a lithium batteries discharge curve.I verified it's operation with the core of an old smoke detector. My locations background is around 16-19 counts and with the smoke detector core near it showed 150-200 counts.I also found out by accident that strong UV light can trigger the detector when shined directly through the vents onto the tube.My only complaint is that when holding the unit right-side up the tube is on the bottom. This makes it a little awkward to have it check an item. Yes I know the display will invert itself if I turn the unit over, but then the buttons are upside down.
