I absolutely love this product! I have purchased it several times for my bakery. I cannot properly stuck a cake without the proper support between layers . This particular kit offers various sizes which is really nice. The stacking plates are very well-made. The fact that they are clear is an added bonus! I cannot say enough good things about this product !!! I give them a 10+ and I would order again and again. Shipping is super fast, the price is fair and affordable. This will not disappoint.

Size of the Plates:The sizes listed are not the sizes of the plates, but the sizes of the cakes they are intended for. For example. The 4 plate is intended for a 4 in cake, but the size of the plate is, obviously, smaller. It is 9 cm diameter, or about 3.5 in diameter. Remember, these plates are for uniform support. They're not intended to be the base of the cake. You still need to put each cake in a thin base that will rest on top of the separator plate.Support Rods:The set comes with two types of support rods: White and clear. The white ones are more sturdy. I made a test with the clear rods and they supported 8 lbs flawlessly (see picture).Center Hole:Use the clear rods. They press fit. Beware, the rod doesn't have to go all the way through to the base of the cake. They are not designed that way. They don't event have to go into the cake. That rod is just for alignment and to avoid any sliding of the cake.Pros:1. Very sturdy2. Elegant. Looks professional3. More than enough rods4. Very resistant5. Easy to center on the cakeCons:1. The rods are only about 7-9 inches long2. They are only sold in sets. I have no use for 10-12 inches plates. It would be nice to be able to buy individual plates.

The plates were small. The tubes/pillars were straws and not sturdy. Very disappointed with the product.

If you know anything about decorating cakes then you know you need a good solid structure to stack them. I have found that these work so well. They are sturdy, and the center hole is compatible with the Cake Safe rod. It’s awesome. I am a big fan. Definitely will order again.

Make tiered cakes very stable

looked great, but center post only worked on 2 of the tiers, the top one didn't fit. had to cut down straw so that center just rested on it, still worked ok, but didn't have as much center support.

This worked great and it was extremely sturdy. Excellent buy. Reusable. I saw some less than great reviews and I think that might be because the instructions are very minimal. If you're not used to building tiered cakes it could be confusing. But aside from that if you figure it out it's really great.
