That other review is garbage. I was told about the tester by a friend. I just bought a new machine and wanted to try one of these. It's unbelievably bad ass. Setting zeros is simple and much more accurate than my edge finder. The big motivator for me was the ability to use it to set z on the Haas. Great product so far. I ain't say about the lifespan, but Haimer is known for quality

Setup time is so fast now it is paying for itself everyday by saving time. Make sure to buy a couple spare tips. If you have never used one before you will likely break a tip. It doesn’t take long to master operation and even the setup was really easy.

I really like the tool and the way it helps me save time on setups.

I use this to zero my workpiece on my cnc and test runout to make sure it is square. This is for Oleg- not sure if your review was for the Haimer, because mine is all metal, and HEAVY. I wouldn’t drop this at all, even from 5 inches. Super accurate, easy to calibrate with the bezel. And it has multiple places you can adjust with an Allen wrench just in case.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do. No issues whatsoever.

I'd been on the fence for years about getting one of these since it's a lot of coin. I finally pulled the trigger but it was a major letdown. Firstly, out of the box it was not zeroed. No big deal as I was able to adjust this using the 4 small set screws around the dial. Then I set it in my spindle and put a dial indicator on it to check the concentricity. It was out about 0.010" but the adjustment screws only allowed about 0.003" adjustment. I contacted Haimer tech support and was told that the lack of adjustment was specific to the NG model and that the Universal models are more adjustable.Sadly, I'm packing this up and sending it back. Maybe I just got a bad one, but I'm not dropping another $460+ to find out. It's back to my wiggler for now.

It is excellent to sense the piece and to be able to start the work as soon as possible, very good device.

Havent used it much since I got it as I am currently reconfiguring my CNC machine but have played with it and it is extremely accurate. I am happy with it at the moment. We will see how it handles the rigor of regular use

Absolutly love this probe!!, it's quite the investment but now I'm doing work at speeds no one can keep up with and doing my own quality inspection in machine, if you like to use master tool setting with your machine I would definatly recommend buying one, machining will never be the same thanks to this beautiful gem!
