This was an update purchase from an adapter that didn't have power delivery which would drain the battery. This has been tested on both an iPad and iPhone. This for when the WiFi is spotty and a better connection is needed for internet while at home or especially abroad.

My experience: iPhone SE 1st generation can connect to ethernet. BUT does NOT charge and the battery drains to zero in about 40 minutes. Happened the two times I tried it. Dongel got warm both times. Returned and looking for a better solution.

I have an ipad 9th gen which has a lightning port. I bought this adapter hoping that connecting ethernet to my iPad would give high internet speed. My network speed is 1 gig up and down and this adapter claims to go up to speeds of 1 gig. After connecting the adapter, I tested my internet speed and this adapter will not go above 325 Mbps download and 253 Mbps upload speeds. My home network has Cat6 cable running to every room so I don't use wifi and I get speeds on my other devices of well over 900 Mbps up and down. This device does not work as described unless I have a bad device or I'm missing something. I work in IT by the way.

bought three for broadcasting a robotics competition using Google Meet (enterprise) on three iPhones: iPhone 11, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone Xr. I bought these because WiFi and Cellular data were hugely congested due to hundreds of people attending and many of them using their phones, causing WiFi and Cellular data to not work well.All three worked flawlessly! The remote viewers of the broadcast were happy with the quality of the broadcast. All three phones were fully charged after the broadcast.I have no complaints.I did have one technical glitch that was my fault. One of the iPhones had a VPN app installed, and the VPN was enabled. The network firewall blocked the outbound traffic. Once I turned the VPN off on that phone, it worked fine. This technical glitch was not the fault of this Ethernet adapter, but I mention this in the hope that others can learn and benefit from this.

I bought this for my iPad Mini 5 since when I do Whiteboard presentations on Zoom the wifi kept cutting out.Initially when I plugged in the Ethernet adapter the iPad said it was an unsupported dongle. I plugged it into my iPhone 12 and the Ethernet option in the "Settings" showed up. I replugged it back into my iPad Mini 5 and the Ethernet option in "Settings" showed up as well. So if you buy this adapter and it doesn't work first try, definitely try replugging it in.The nice thing about this adapter is that it also has an extra lighting port so you can charge while using the ethernet. I haven't checked maximum speeds, but the stability of having an ethernet connection is all I wanted in this dongle.

I decided to buy this device as the only official ones I could find are for the newer model iPhones that use USB-C, which, unfortunately, mine does not. It took a few attempts at first to connect to my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It was detected each time, but for some reason, it wasn't detecting the ethernet correctly. Eventually, I was able to get it to work. However, I noticed that it would drop the connection after 30 minutes and refuse to connect to the internet again.I am returning this thing and seeing if I can find an older Belkin instead.

The unit times out if left idle to prevent overheating. It gets quite warm. Charge port got loose after 2 weeks of use. You have to reinsert the charge cable to resume charging. The cable strain relief is holding up better than my previous unit, so far - no wires are exposed.
