How tall is the faucet, above the countertop? The description says 12.6 inches, but does that include the part below the countertop as well?

It's about 7 inches and three quarters from the countertop to the end of the spout.Is about 8 inches and three quarters to the highest point on the counter to the top. I hope that someone helps. :)

What size hole should the hole be when installed?

Is there any way to make this faucet shorter. I have a window is 6 1/2 inches above the countertop when it opens.

Short answer ... no. Unfortunately, these faucets tend to be high up over the sink to prevent accidental back flow and the height acts as the "air gap". A shorter faucet would risk siphoning of contaminated water into your potable home water system; for example, if someone inadvertently places a tall pot in the sink under a short faucet. Can you make the window open outward?
