This is my second Alan Dunn flower book, and I have enjoyed it every bit as much as the first. I use his guides for making polymer clay flowers, though - not sugar paste. I can't imagine using wire for cake flowers as he does; with stems and stamens not edible, why bother to make the flowers from sugar? That aside, the color grading and textures are an inspiration!

I must admit I bought this for my Sister in Law at her request, but she told me she loves it and it will help her a lot on her path to becoming a baker that gets paid well for high end baking like custom wedding cakes and things like that.

A book with so much information. Alan Dunn is very detailed with his craft. Thus, his instructions are very well explained. My only problem is that the diagrams only show the finished outcome of that certain step and he doesn't show what tools he used/him doing it. As a visual learner, it can be a nuisance. Also, not all sugar flowers have step-by-step diagrams, but I understand this because it is a very condensed book. Ultimately, it's an amazing book with a variety of flowers!

As always, Alan Dunn comes through with excellent instruction, beautiful photos and tons of inspiration. I consider it a must have for my library.
