Properly installed, this works perfectly
We hired a teenager to install this item for us. She was able to place the anchor clip on the metal frame, maneuver the footer bar into place, fully tighten the strap connecting the header clip and footer bar (the teenager was able to crawl under the bed to accomplish this), use duct tape to fasten the lower bar in place, and the mattress has not budged an inch since it was installed. The secret is getting it correctly installed, with the clip and strap placed correctly and tightened properly. The duct tape on the footer bar was not required but seemed like a good idea. The mattress has had NO horizontal or vertical movement whatsoever since this device was installed making it IMO a very worthwhile addition - again, WITH CORRECT INSTALLATION.

Feels light but it's great!
I got this for our sleep number that kept sliding off the base when we sat up in bed with our backs against the back board. It feels sorta cheep but once it is screwed on it is great! The bed has not moved around since I put it on. Very easy to assemble. Just know you are drilling 2 screws into your base. My base is solid but I know some are not (like the slatted ones from ikea) so keep that in mind when ordering. The only "sorta issue" I've found with it is I can't sit at the foot of the bed anymore, I have to sit on one of the corners, that's just a habit I'll need to change. The bed sliding and having to be readjusted everyday is far more annoying than not being able to sit in the center at the foot of the bed. I really suggest this if you have a bed that won't stay in place. Whish I had bought it years ago!

Works for that side.
Easy to drill into my plywood base. Works well for the foot of the bed. But then my mattress started slowly sliding off the side. Oh well. It did what it was supposed on the end I put it.

Works well
My husband has an adjustable bed and has to sleep with his head raised. The retainer bar was easy to put on bed and is keeping the mattress from sliding down.

Bed Still slides
But that I have not actually attached it to the bed frame although I easily can. We have a Select comfort airbed and the “boxspring” portion of the bed is a heavy duty plastic box frame. I wanted to wait and see how the rail worked without being actually attached. The screws that came with it probably wont be adequate to go through the thick framing and not pull out so I will eventually look for something that can go through the base and be secured underneath like with washers/flat head bolt. It should work perfectly then.

Keeps our mattress in place
We have a constantly sliding mattress because we don't have a foot board. Our bed is a full-sized, nothing special, mattress. This product keeps the mattress in place. Getting it hooked up was a little tricky - we'd call it a two person project, but it took no time at all to put it in place. The foot end works like a children's safety bed rail in that it tucks under the mattress, but then there's a strap that goes from toe to head and then catches the mattress on the that end. You can tighten the strap to be the right length and tension. The clip (an L shaped metal piece approximately 2" wide and 1" on each of the angle sides) used at the head was the hardest part to "install' although it's not actually installed, just catches the box springs. The clip is small so we had to test the strap length several times to get it just right before placing the clip and dropping the mattress back down. The guard rail can be attached to a bed frame with screws - eliminating the need for the strap, but we didn't use this installation method.

Simple fix for an irritating problem
We recently purchased a travel trailer equipped with a queen bed, and discovered a design flaw in the bed platform (built a bit undersized, so there was no place for the bedding to anchor in place). We would wake several times in the night, and find the bedding slid off into the floor.I solved the problem by cutting a slightly larger bed platform, and installing this retainer at the foot of the bed. Now the bedding is "anchored" in place and no more bedding in the floor..Very easy to assemble and install, and I would imagine this product will last as long as the trailer it's installed in..

Doesn't keep mattress from sliding unfortnately.
I was excited hoping this device would hold mattress in place to keep from sliding...unfortnately it does not. We had a base to raise and lower but the mattress was sliding forward all the time, tried this and still does it. Maybe would work if it was screwed on to base but not willing to do that at this time.
