Beautiful and effective workbook
The Health Anxiety Workbook is absolutely a must-have for anyone experiencing health-related anxiety. I'm a licensed therapist with a doctorate in mental health. Rarely do you find a workbook that is the trifecta of beautiful, easy to understand, and most of all - HELPFUL. This workbook provides a perfect balance of useful information (in small easy-to-digest chunks) and practical application. The information provided is wonderful and I appreciate the exercises, which are highly effective. A few friends also spent time with the workbook and found that it significantly helped their health-related anxiety. This workbook is now my go-to resource for anyone with health anxiety. I'm so glad I have this on my bookshelf - for myself, my clients, my students, and my supervisees.

This is an extremely helpful and thoughtfully laid out workbook. The chapters contain concise and easily digestible practical information about health anxiety and the ways it manifests itself, followed by excercises that can be put into practice right away. At the end of each chapter there's a Key Takeaway section and a space to write out reflections before moving on to the next chapter. The real life anecdotes shed light on the many ways health anxiety can affect someone's life and I found them to be both relatable and eye opening. I can easily see how the coping skills provided like grounding exercises and mindful breathing could be beneficial in almost any stressful or anxiety provoking situation and I look forward to using them in our family.*I was provided an advanced copy by the publisher.

Easy to Work Through; Provides tools and activities for managing Health-Specific and General Anxiety
As a mental health clinician, I often struggle to find concrete, simple resources to recommend for clients to work through difficulties on their own time. I am so glad this workbook exists! I was provided with an advance copy by the publisher.As someone who has experienced intense health anxiety for years, I can confidently say that this is a wonderful resource. This workbook takes you step-by-step through the basics of what health anxiety is and how to know whether you may be experiencing it. Then, it continues by providing you with information, exercises, and various tools for dealing with it. I really liked that this workbook is easy to understand, includes visuals to illustrate concepts, and exercises with clear instructions.This is not a book of fluff, it teaches sound proven strategies, keeps it real, and lets you know that your anxiety will not be conquered overnight, but it is possible to learn to manage it to the point where it no longer overwhelms various aspects of your life. The author provides ongoing encouragement, sets realistic expectations, and provides quality resources.If you are dealing with health anxiety, I highly recommend purchasing this workbook. It’s a complete resource that you can use individually or in combination with therapy. I suggest working through no more than one chapter per week. And, a bonus about this book is that the approach and skills that you gain from it can also be used to address other types of anxiety.

Great resource for those with health anxiety
Ms. Ham has produced a very readable and imminently useful workbook that is sure to bring relief to anxiety sufferers. She applies a thoroughly-researched treatment method, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, in understandable ways that will be easily applied by those dealing with health anxiety. The exercises can be put to use immediately, guiding the reader through the entire treatment process. I also liked the way the author gives special attention to self-care and follow-up as a way to encourage readers to continue their improvement into the future. For the many people who suffer from health anxiety, this workbook will give them very useful tools to feel better.

Excellent resource for anxiety
As a marriage and family therapist, I believe health anxiety is much more prevalent than we know, given the wealth of internet content that can stoke fears. Taylor does a real service here by explaining in a non-shaming way the anxiety that plagues so many, followed by exercises to help change negative thought patterns that fuel worry.The beauty of this book is that these exercises apply to general anxiety as well. Her clear, accessible writing style makes this a great self-help book.
