If i wanted to mount it to my garage door what size carriage bolts would i use 1/4",5/16",3/8" ?

We used it as a replacement hoop for a trampoline, so didn't need those. But I think it came with the bolts needed for mounting to door or backboard.

Could anyone give measurements on how far apart the mounting holes are both vertically and horizontally?

The one I just got has a different dimension from the one I bought 1.5 years ago. Vertical is slightly less than 2" and horizontal is about 2.5".

What are the dimensions of the mounting plate?

approx. 2.5 in high, 4 in. wide

Will it bend easily if I replace it with a metal net to hang from the rim?

It’s pretty sturdy. I wouldn’t think hanging a metal net would be a problem.
