Fresh and tasty
The overall experience with counter culture was great. My coffee shipped when it said it would and got here the earlier of the two possible days listed. Both bags were stamped with a roasted-on date about 5 days prior to their arrival. So, about as long as it took to roast, bag, box and ship it to my door. I don't think it could be any fresher than that without visiting a roastery in person. I do want to note that my order shipped directly from CC and not from Amazon, which is not the case with all variates offered on the amazon. Just something to keep in mind for freshness. Also, the coffee variety used in the blend is also stamped on the bags.I do want to preference this by saying that the roast on both of these is likely lighter than a lot of people are going to be used to if they do not already drink specialty coffee.Of the two "Big Trouble" is my favorite, by a lot too. That surprised me because I tend to prefer darker roasts. I would say this roast, in my experience, is on the lighter side of medium. In a v60 it makes a well-rounded cup that is balanced between body and acid. So, it tastes modern with a hint of nostalgia. This is the cup of coffee I wish I could get served in every local diner. It could easily become my daily driver, so to speak. These flavors remain the same in the Aeropress but are slightly muted. As for "Fourty-Six" it is a bit different. Smokey and fuller in taste, which I like, but there is slight floral aftertaste which isn't my preference. Don't get me wrong, it is a good cup of coffee, but it misses the mark for me personally. I'd definitely recommend it to others who like that sort of taste. While listed as a dark roast I'd say it is on the side of medium-dark. It has the characteristics of a dark roast in flavor, though. For reference I use a Timemore C2 as my grinder and a V60 using the 4:6 method for my daily cup. I find that I like 18 clicks. I'd say this is closer to medium than a medium-fine grind.Anyway, I'll be trying more varieties.

Big Trouble is the Goldilocks blend you've been searching for
My only complaint- I wish the bags were a little bigger, but this coffee is worth it. It has a rich, sweet, velvety profile. Almost a light cocoa / caramel flavor but its very slight and seems to come from the beans. There is no artificial flavoring / alcohol taste like most flavored coffees. There's nothing cheap tasting or cheap smelling about it. Its not bitter or acidic. Its very smooth. Its a perfect all occasion blend. Not too strong, not too light, great for any time of day. A perfect company coffee, or for sitting at the table reading the paper with breakfast. I call it Goldilocks because it really is "just right". I usually always put cream in my coffee, but with this roast I could see skipping it, its that good. I hope they never stop making it.

5 months old.
I love this coffee and it's my go-to brand and flavor. However, I usually order directly from Counter Culture. When I order direct it's usually been roasted within 4 days of arrival. But after ordering here I was surprised to see it had been roasted 5 months earlier (Dec roast, April arrival). Hologram was significantly less fresh than I'm used to. Instead of smelling awesome, it smelled like cigarettes.Still pretty good flavor overall. I love this coffee and it's fantastic when fresh. I'll order this coffee again but not from this source.

Favorite coffee
We tried other flavors like big trouble and fast forward. They are good, but this one hits the spot with good aroma, mouth feel and the slight blueberry finish. We don’t drink it black, but it tastes good in a latte or cappuccino

One of our favorite coffees
Rather than hope Whole Foods has it in stock and it's on sale, I buy mine here and get it for the sale price every time. Not a bad set up.

Not fresh roasted coffee
In general we love this coffee however purchasing it through Amazon was a mistake. It is already 60 days old and not fresh roasted. We use our coffee for espresso and it needs to be within 30 days of roasting. I'm sure it would be fine for a drip coffee.Good afternoon,Thank you for reaching out about our order timing.Orders placed through Amazon are often at least a couple of weeks off roast, if not more, because they warehouse bulk orders and send them out as needed. In some places this inventory gets backed up, so you'll see even older ones. All orders placed with us directly, before 4 pm EST, are scheduled to roast and ship the next business day. Orders placed after 4 pm EST are scheduled to roast and ship on the second business day. Occasionally a volume or unforeseen event will cause a delay in fulfillment of a day, but everything ships on the same day it roasts. Note that our business days are Monday through Friday, so an order placed today would go out on Monday. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else I can do. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!RyanCustomer Experience Team
