The heating element is a good and much cheaper replacement for a factory part. The one slight minus is that the mounting holes don't match up and have to be re-drilled, but that took only an extra few minutes.

My dryer started only blowing cold air all of a sudden, so (luckily) my handy husband was able to take off the back to check what was wrong. He examined the heating element and found one of the coils had broken. My Whirlpool dryer is a bit on the older side…maybe 10 years old, so I got online and researched the part number against my dryer’s model number, and found the identical part within a few minutes. Very reasonably priced, and got it next day! My husband installed it in about 30 minutes total, so I was back in business with a warm, functioning dryer in quick time. Very happy, as I was not ready to give up on my trusty old dryer.

I purchased and install the replacement parts a little over two months ago. My dryer has stopped working today. The heating coils stopped working.

My parents were close to going ahead and purchasing a new dryer in an already inflated economy, this quick fix saved them what would have been potentially hundreds of new dollars worth of a new dryer.This was my first time troubleshooting and fixing a dryer, I didn't even have the right socket size and used pliers to get the back plate off, that's how easy this was. Don't overspend.

Everything fit well except the heating unit itself but made it work.
