A Beautiful Adapation of a Classic Work of Sci-Fi!
“Dune: The Graphic Novel, Book 2: Muad’Dib” continues Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s comic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s “Dune” with art from Raúl Allén and Patricia Martín as well as Bill Sienkiewicz, who previously adapted David Lynch’s 1984 film version of “Dune” for Marvel Comics. The story picks up following the events of the first volume, with Paul Atreides and the Lady Jessica fleeing into the desert after the Harkonnens attacked. There they meet Stilgar and his sietch, learning more of the Fremen customs in order to discover the source of desert power. Meanwhile, Baron Harkonnen schemes on Giedi Prime, plotting the future of his heir, Feyd. Allén, Martín, and Sienkiewicz beautifully bring to vivid life Herbert’s story, using color to particular effect in their storytelling. The use of color resembles the Sci-Fi Channel’s 2000 miniseries adaptation of “Dune.” This volume ends with Lady Jessica’s transformation into a Reverend Mother, setting the stage for volume three, “Prophet”, due out in spring 2024.

The Prophecy Grows Within Us All
In style, precision and ambiance, Book 2 is a natural descendant of the first volume. It catches and expands both the power and nuance of Paul Muad'dib's journey without sacrificing the galactic scope of his transformation on Arrakis. The art and story telling give a new perspective on Frank Herbert's original text without sacrificing Dune's intricacy of plot and sheer grit -- this graphic version combines the cinnamon texture of spice with the rising passion of the jihad. Having whetted the collective appetite for revenge against "that floating fat man" and his ilk, there already is space on bookshelves for the 2024 conclusion.

Beautiful
I saw a review that books 1 and 2 Re different sizes. They are not if you buy the same editions. The other review was comparing Book 1 Ultimate Collectors editions to the standard Book 2. These are both full of beautiful art and a great way to reread a classic.

Great graphic adaptation
I love this! I have the original Marvel comic adaptation from the 1984 movie. As a huge Dune fan and comic fan, I get both with this. I have the 1st one and enjoy the art! AnyDune fan should add this to their collection

Brilliant adaptation.
Excellent visual adaptation of the novel. Delves even deeper into the psychology of the characters than the film has time for (nothing against Denis Villeneuve. I loved his film!). I read it in one sitting. I'm excited for part 3 of this graphic novel version.

Absolutely awesome!!! Always a pleasure to return to Herbert's Arrakis. Wish I could find a graphic novel for 'Children of Dune' to complete this thrill!

I love all of Dune, but the ilustration in this 2nd book are sometimes difficult to read...
I am a fan of Dune, period.I bought the first volume of this comic rendition of the book, and I loved it.I waited patiently for this second volume... and then got a bit dissapointed because some pages are diffictult to read.I understand the story is "dark", but is it necessary to chose the color palete that make the ilustrations and the text difficult to read? For instance, see page 156 and 157, white text over orange background, really? (maybe I am getting old and grounchy)I will definetely buy the 3rd volumen... but please, if the authors are reading this, be merciful of your readers :-)

Dune
Just like book 1 in continuing to be a great adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune book. The Illustrations are well drawn particularly of the landscapes and it keeps being faithful to the original story.I was really looking forward to reading this copy and it did not disappoint at all. So glad to have this as part of my Dune collection.
