Q: Is this hat itchy??? I'm assuming it's not lined.

I shave my head and yes this hat is very itchy. Even on days when I don't shave. I have to wear a thin merino wool beanie under it to avoid the awful itch.

Q: This is definitely the kind of hat that you have forever and passed on through the family. How has it held up for some of you and was it worth it?

I have only had my hat for two seasons -but my expectations are high - great warm hat -worth the money for me

Q: What makes this water repellent?

I wearing mine in Switzerland right now.....just got back from a two hour walk wearing it in a snowstorm.....head is warm and dry.....repellency comes from thick wool and natural oils......probably would not wear it for more than a couple hours in heavy rain but in snow you can wear it indefinitely

Q: Will the hat fit a head that is 24" in circumference?

I wear a 7 5/8 to 7 3/4. It fits me
