XRays show I have a few bone spurs and a bunch of arthritis at the base of my big toe. I'm in my 50's and have had a knock knee on that leg and I'm sure 15 years of roller derby didn't help.My orthopedic surgeon recommended this kind of support and it took me two pairs of shoes to find one I could get the insole out of.This device does make the shoe a little tighter - but that's to be expected. Make sure you accommodate for this when selecting your shoes.I do a lot of work on uneven ground and this has really made a difference so I'm not in unbearable pain after a few hours. Not sure how long I'll be able to put off surgery, but this has definitely enabled me to do so for at least a few more years.

An sich ist die Idee gut eine wirklich sehr leichte und dünne Carboneinlage als Abrollhilfe zu verwenden. Doch in der Praxis erweist sie sich als nicht geeignet:1. Die Aussparung für die restlichen Zehen sind natürlich aufgrund individueller Anatomie nie perfekt und somit spürt man die harte Kante trotz Einlage drüber sehr deutlich (bei unterm Grosszeh da die Einlage ja - so ist kein Fuß gebaut!- etwas nach innen eine Kurve macht und der Zeh geradeaus ragt und somit nicht passgenau sein kann).2. die Einlage ist ja ganz gerade und absolut steif. Dafür benötigt man dann auch Schuhe mit ganz flacher Innensohlenseite, bei meinem Versuch die in Wanderschuhe (sehr reichlich groß) zu legen verkleinert die Einlage den Fußraum so sehr das meine Zehen taub wurden weil die Einlage dann in dem doch irgendwie vorhandenen (trotz rausnehmen von Sohle) Bett schwebt und das machte dann gar keinen SinnIch könnte mir vorstellen das eine komplette Sohle (ohne die Aussparung!!!) in ganz ! flachen Schuhen (Ballerinas oder so) hilfreich sein könnte, für Schuhe aber wo die Sohle nicht komplett aufliegen kann wird es eher Probleme gebenDa wird es noch zu tüfteln geben..

The first issue is that the sole of my shoe is not flat and putting a flat plate inside means there is a gap underneath the middle, with my smaller toes much lower in the shoe the the big toe. Which exactly the opposite of what is needed.This also means the plate flattens down and back up when stepping causing excess rubbing.The other issue is that you would need a really secure hold round your ankle to stop the heal lifting out of the shoe, due to the rigidity of the plate

My podiatrist recommended this specific product as something to try before we consider something more aggressive. I have pain the joint below the big toe, and it also shows up as pins and needles on the ball of the foot. I have been walking 3 miles a day, and it's too much for the joint. This insert stops the joint from moving as much, and it feels so much better. If this keeps up, when I order new orthotics, they can build in a resistance similar to what this product is providing. Fingers crossed! So far, so good.

I put this is my show as directed. It makes so much noise. It was very expensive for what it is. It was recommended by my doctor but hasn’t helped much with the pain, made it a bit worse
