Took to Chevy dealership to program on my 2019 Chevy Malibu. Works great!

Looked up a programming video on youtube and it worked.But you do have to have the key cut first. I repeat, take your old key and cut the new one before you program it. There is a chip in the actual key that will confuse your car. Before you program the new keyfob... Open the door with the new cut.Key.

Bought this for my son easy to program yourself just follow the steps save yourself 200$ for a locksmith worked from 2018 Chevy malibu

Bought this fob for a 2018 Malibu LS I recently bought. It only had 1 fob with it. I followed the procedure in my car’s manual for programming fobs if you don’t have 2 fobs. It does take the full 30 mins so make sure you have time. I was worried since it deletes the only programmed fob I had from the cars system. You add it back in the next step and add the new one. It was a longer procedure, but completely doable for anyone to do themselves. Now I still have to get the hideaway key in the fob cut for the door. *note just make sure you put your vehicle make, model, & year in so you get the correct fob.

Fobs are so expensive and breaking one is a nightmare. This was the exact one I needed and the cost was so reasonable. It does list a website to program the fob but I’m not comfortable doing that. If you mess one thing up will your car not start. So will be taking it to the dealer to program
