I am SO excited to write this review! For anyone who is on the fence about making this purchase, fear not. These are worth the buy. About 15 years ago I started sleeping on *satin* pillowcases believing I was doing a good thing for my face and hair. Because they are smoother than the linen or cotton pillowcases I'd always used, I thought sure they were beneficial. I really didn't think it was necessary to be so particular and use *silk*. Boy, was I wrong. I got these and tossed them in the wash first. I washed in cold water on delicate then air dried. They wash beautifully and are a nice medium-weight. The satin ones I was replacing were thin and not as smooth as these. Then I got them on my pillows and slept. The picture that I submitted above is *after* 4 nights use. Just as smooth as the day I put them on. And I kid you not; lying down to rest at the end of the day on these things is pure bliss. They are such a luxurious upgrade for so little. I am so impressed that I ordered another pair a few days later. The only thing about it, and some reviews have mentioned, if you sweat a lot or wear like a lot of oil in your hair, they're going to discolor but that's just what happens with natural textiles. For me, these are mainly for protecting my healthy hair, and I am not the type who will ever wear a bonnet to bed every night, especially not in the summer. I've seen my pillowcases in the past get a little discolored from hair oils and facial moisturizers/oils but it doesn't bother me. It's never significant and *I* know when I wash them that they're clean. Again, if you appreciate pure textiles like silk, linen, cotton, etc. you know you just work with their beautiful imperfections. It's for that reason that I ordered black. I've never had black bed linens in my life. My linen sheets are a charcoal gray and they didn't have a dark gray set of pillowcases when I ordered so I grudgingly chose black. But since they have that beautiful silk sheen, somehow they don't seem as dark. They're beautiful. And if they weren't, they are sooooo soft it doesn't even matter. The difference between my old satin cases and these is significant. I also like the zipper placement. Maybe you've seen pillowcases with zippers that are beneath like a flap about two inches from the end of the case. This is not that. The zipper is concealed at the very end of the pillowcase with no extra flap fabric. It is concealed enough that you never even notice it while sleeping. It seems very sturdy and secure. I just can't say enough good about these pillowcases. I promise, if you try these you will NOT go back to sleeping on linen or cotton ones again. Also (I didn’t even know this and I’m Gen X) mulberry silk is the toughest and finest grade of silk. Who knew?! Google it. “Its durability ensures that products made from mulberry silk, such as bedding or clothing, resist wear and tear far better than other types of silk. Mulberry silk's strength allows it to maintain its beauty over time, even with regular use, providing long-lasting luxury.” Go ahead. Do your own research. There are mulberry silk pillowcases on here for $50 and you wouldn’t know the difference. I don't even mind the extra care of washing these in cool water in the gentle cycle with my bras and other delicates. It will keep them in great shape for a good long time. I'm not even looking at other brands for a discount. The pricing is reasonable for the superior quality of these luxurious cases. Update August 2025 — I’m buying 2 more pairs. Nothing wrong with the 2 pairs I have. But I change my pillowcases throughout the week even when I don’t change the sheets so my face isn’t getting oil and sweat from previous nights sleeps. I used to use a 22 momme silk pillowcase, but they kept falling apart after a few months. I got this one and there’s quite a difference between this momme 25 and the momme 22. I can tell it’s going to last longer. The fabric isn’t as delicate/fragile as 22 momme. But it’s very soft and comfortable to sleep on. Can’t beat it for the price!

I bought these pillowcases since I travel frequently for work and prefer to sleep on silk/satin pillowcases. The quality is not great and they feel a bit cheap, but being able to zip a hotel pillow inside brings them up a notch for me. Would purchase again.

I really like these pillow cases. The material is smooth, cool and has a good hand. I have washed multiple times. I have several pair and last for months. Very nice luxury gift to give. Zipper works well and is easy to pull. Very good value for this grade of silk.

I’ve been using silk pillowcases for years, and wanted to get a couple for my boyfriend’s apartment. These are unfortunately definitely not 100% silk. I’d be surprised if they’re even a blend. They feel like polyester, they’re overly slippery and smooth, they don’t wrinkle, and I did a burn test with a tiny corner of the fabric and it melted with no ash. Pure plastic, don’t waste your money.

I ordered two sets of these pillowcases in the regular grey color, one in the standard size and one in king. As you can see in my photos, the colors are drastically different between the two sizes. The king-sized set has more of a blue undertone, while the standard-size set is more of a dove grey (kind of taupe-y). I prefer the latter. The fabric itself is also different between the two sets - the king set is a bit thinner and softer, whereas the standard is thicker and a little waxy feeling. Therefore I’m not 100% confident that both (or either!) set is actually pure silk as advertised. If I hadn’t purchased these on a lightning deal and already tossed the packaging, I would return the king set. I’m definitely disappointed that the seller doesn’t have good quality checks in place to ensure consistency in their products.

The best pillowcases we've ever had. Stays on the bed. It's real silk . You can do a Google search on veakan silk pillowcases and it even says real silk.
