Not for casual or semi-casual lifters
This has tons (heh) of weight training 'concepts', arrangements, and theories. It is clearly a good book, so I am not slagging on it. I want to clarify with my review, however, it is not for the casual lifter who wants to keep healthy joints, tendons, and ligaments, and get maximal results from minimal time, with a clearly outlined strategy that matches their 'type'. To clarify, I am NOT saying the book will injure you, just that non-advanced and non-'enhanced' people probably can't take *some* of the routines offered. In my view, this book is for the person who will spend six workouts in the gym per week, instead of three, to get 10% more results. Also, as others have said, if you want solid outlines of a full program, it's not here in any significant form. Instead, basically schematics and techniques are in here, with no commitment to 'what works for whom'. It did give me a reference for another book, however. It, too, is advanced, but has some more guiding principles based upon exercise science, something I was hungry for and not trusting to online sources that want to sell things.

A Powerhouse Book for Strength and Muscle Building!
I recently received this great book written by top coach, Josh Bryant and have to say, it's phenomenal! Josh is the real deal and the book covers all the latest science, practical applications, and programming for effective strength and hypertrophy training. There's no stone that's left unturned as everything is covered in this over 400 page monster of a book.As a "scientist" in studying the applications to strength and muscle building, I would say that this book is required for every serious fitness enthusiast to better understand the latest science of muscular development and establishing a foundation of strength.Josh is a great writer and reveals the true science (not "bro-science") and practical applications. I'm sure this book will be regarded as one of the most comprehensive books ever written in the area of strength and muscle building.Take a look at the "Table of Contents" to see the extensive information and programming that's covered in this massive book.If you want one book that covers it all in the science of muscle building - THIS IS IT!This book is beyond great!

Excellent Training Manual
Without a doubt, this is one of the best books I’ve read on strength training. In this book Josh covers every possible aspect of fitness. The book is intelligently written, and most of all, the material came across as trustworthy. I love reading material that is immediately applicable. And this book definitely is. It’s very inspirational as well. I highly recommend this book to any athlete, any age.

I like the unexpected in in people and in life
I like the unexpected in in people and in life: this book is so cool: Why?Its the education behind it:Armold wrote education of a bodybuilder:An instant classic:Arnold has an immensley strong mind set that made him probably the greatest bodybuilder ever: But 'built to the hilt' really is an educated book about lifting weights and becoming powerfully strong as opposed to looking pretty which theres nothing wrong with if thats your goal! But if you want to be built to the hilt and progress exponentially by lifting weights: lts a great book because of the thought behind it! Theres no better book!Over 400 pages: josh spared no expense to write the best book ever written with the best science and education available! Life is about joy and this book will add great joy to your efforts in the gym!And great joy as you reap the befits after the gym workouts!

I have been an ardent follower of Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates for years and followed the Heavy Duty protocol zealously during that time. I have read dozens of bodybuilding books and was never swayed from practicing Heavy Duty...until now. Josh's book is the best bodybuilding book I have ever bought because of the writing style and the no BS info in it. Down to earth and very clearly written by a great champion of the iron game. I was particularly magnetized by the section on Powerbuilding, which is a cross between bodybuilding and powerlifting. It fit my training style, but kicked it into a new level almost immediately when I implemented it. I can't recommend this book enough regardless of where you are in your training experience. Thanks Josh for all the work you put into it. Your book is going to become a real classic, if it isn't already.

you won't be disappointed.
I buy most books Josh Bryant writes because I went to youtube.com and watched some of his videos and found some methods I would’ve never dreamed existed; he has videos that are so far of anything I've ever seen so I order this book, and now my workouts are at a level that is unsurpassed. I haven't finished the book, but my workouts are exciting and productive. If it's all the same to you if you're looking for a trainer that out front ahead of the pack then look no further than Josh Bryant; you won't be disappointed.

I have read many weightlifting books and this one is fantastic. Josh has definitely walked the walk as an athlete and as a coach by working with some of the top powerlifters and bodybuilders in the world. Dave Tate of ElitrFTS does not normally promote products in general or other people's books but when he spoke so highly of Josh's book, I had to check it out. If you want to learn how to incorporate advanced techniques into your routine, utilize bands and chains, get bigger and stronger and learn how to better periodize your training as a bodybuilder then this book is for you. Everything from training to nutrition to conditioning to advanced recovery techniques to mental training and visualization is covered in detail.

Superb
One of the best books on the subject by the most knowledgeable man in the field. Excellent blend of theory and practice. Not enough dick picks though.

Far more than expected.
There is far more here than I expected. This book really is for everybody from beginners to coaches. Multiple programs laid out with complete detail and if you’re just looking for a template, that’s there too. Definitely be buying more of his books.

A decent value proposition
Probably won't be particularly eye-opening to most, but at 440ish pages, plenty of illustrations, and $10, it's hardly worth complaining about. Lots of reasonably good (if not particularly revealing or "unique") information and I've picked up an idea or two, if nothing else. Some statements that seem a little individual or otherwise misguided (for instance, Josh Bryant seems pretty anti-sumo for some reason), but if you're willing to accept a bit of editorializing, you probably won't regret the purchase.
