Creative Haven Mermaids Coloring Book: Relax & Unwind with 31 Stress-Relieving Illustrations (Adult Coloring Books: Fantasy)

The media could not be loaded.  I have several coloring books by Barbara Lanza (one of which is by Creative Haven as well.) Those books all focus on fairy designs so I was really pleased to see that her newest book is a departure from what I have seen in the past. This coloring book has 31 different mermaid designs.The designs have Ms. Lanza's usual graceful look. There are designs of mermaids singly or in groups. There are ocean scenes above and below. There are plants and sea life as well. The drawings are detailed without being overly intricate and are a pleasure to color.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium.31 Mermaid Designs the majority of which have beautiful backgrounds as wellPrinted one side of the pagePaper is white, medium weight, slightly smooth and has perforated pages.Glue Binding but you can remove pages at the perforation easilyMost Designs extend past the perforationsAlcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based markers bleed through in spots and leave colorful shadows on the back of the pageGel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page. India ink pens can bleed through if you apply heavily or with with multiple layers.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. I was able to use both wax and oil based pencils equally well. They lay down good color, layer the same color and multiple colors and blend easily using a pencil style blender. Hard lead pencils, like Verithins, leave dents on the back of the page.I either use a blotter page under my working page or I remove pages from the book to color. I like card stock for my blotter page but a couple of sheets of heavyweight paper works as well.

I couldn't be happier with this coloring book. I bought it for myself because I don't like adult coloring books that have crazy and intricate patterns/designs. This is perfect! The pictures are well drawn and I am able to color until my heart is content. My toddler son also loves helping me color. I will definitely order another coloring book from Ms. Lanza again.

Another great book from Creative Haven. The pages are thick. The pictures are easy to tear out.The designs are perfect and easy to Color. I used sharpies and prismacolor markers on the pictures

a beautiful addition to my coloring collection. This book is full of beautiful mermaid's and you can run wild with your imagination for color options. You can use both pencils and markers in this book and the colors don't bleed onto the next page. It's a must have addition and Creative Haven does not disappoint.

I really appreciated the spiral-bound option for this book. It was definitely worth a few extra dollars. Ms. Lanza's work is always great. Having it spiral-bound is the icing on the cake.

The pages are one-sided, such that the image is on one side of the page and the other side is white/blank. With two coats of a water-based marker (ohuhu fineliners), there is no bleeding and the markers do not "spread" color. The pages are smooth. Book does not lay flat unless creased or held down; pages are perforated. Lines do not smear, the print is good quality. Arrived in good condition. All images are unique; there are no duplicate images.

My son's girlfriend loves this book. The pictures are kid and adult friendly. Mermaids look like "mermaids" and not too overly sexual.

I thought this would be a good coloring book but I don’t care for the pictures. Also the paper feels funny and it makes my colored pencils not adhere to the paper very well. I do not find myself using this much at all.

Es un libro muy bonito.Como siempre Barbara Lanza no me ha decepcionado con su trabajo.El libro esta lleno de las sirenas con unos poses muy variadas en el mar y en la superficie.Muchas veces las rodean jardines marinos y otros peces y criaturas marinas . El dibujo ocupa toda la pagina.Tiene muchos detalles muy bonitos.A mi personalente me encanta.Sobre todo porque las caras de las sirenas tambien son muy bonitas.El libro tiene tamaño grande.Las hojas de papel son gruesas y el papel es algo basto de un color blanco roto que viene genial para colorear.No transpasa ninguna pintura El dibujo esta solamente por un lado.Las paginas estan perforadas por si quieres enmarcarte alguna obra.

The quality of the paper is excellent. I like that the pages are perforated so my granddaughter can take her favorites out of the book. The images are so beautiful and they have given us many hours of colour fun.
