I stopped coloring my hair almost a year ago and decided to let it grow in natural color which is blonde mixed with gray. This shampoo has helped a lot with bringing out my natural highlights and toning down the brassy and yellow color but you have to be careful to only use occasionally, because it will dry out your hair, but other than that, it does exactly what it says that it does, and it is great with a good Smell,

this purple shampoo really performs on my ash blonde hair. My hair is colored, by the way. I have both the conditioner and shampoo. So both are dark purple. when you apply them make sure you rinse them extremely well because the purple stays in longer than any other shampoo I’ve had. The other thing I do sometimes is after I conditioned it with the purple purple conditioner and rinsed, I put a non purple cream conditioner over it and rinsed well, to make sure I got all the purple out. (so your hair won’t be purple which by the way has happened to me and I had to rewash my hair with regular shampoo lol lol )

Tldr; odd fragrance but it does somewhat temporarily tone brassiness in natural blonde hair without any damage.I had platinum blonde hair til I was 10--as an adult, my hair is naturally dark blonde but I started going grey in my late teens. This conditioner actually works really well to brighten/blend the reddish-yellow tones. One bottle lasts me a year and I only use it about once a month because...it smells really weird! Out of all the fragrances in the world, I have no idea how this one made it to the market. It kind of smells like clove cigarettes mixed with dollar store carpet freshener...not good at all! And you can't wash the smell out either, I've tried conditioning first and shampooing second but that just mixes the scents and somehow makes it worse. It lingers for days and makes my towel, pillow, hats, etc. smell, too.

I use both the Clairol Shimmer Lights shampoo and the conditioner. My young granddaughter convinced me to let my gray hair come out. I am so glad I did. My dad had beautiful white hair. After letting the white and silver take over, I am sure no other shampoo and conditioner would bring out the shine and shimmer better than these. I have received many compliments regarding the color and the shine of my hair; from family, friends and even strangers. It feels so full and healthy and soft, and I'm old! If you are going gray or white or silver, give Clairol Shimmer Lights a try.

This has a thin consistency, not like most conditioners. I like it that way. It goes through my dispenser much easier. But if I mixed up the bottles, I would have a hard time telling it apart from my shampoo. As for how it works, I love it. I will buy more as needed.
