Dependable automatic watering system
This is a very good product! I effortlessly watered 8 plants when I was away for a week. This kit is ready to go, except for the water bucket. I used a 5 gallon Lowe's bucket. You set how often it waters, and for how long, and this unit faithfully waters as long as there is power to the house. The unit comes with a lot of 'cut to size' tubing and connectors and drip stakes, probably enough for 10 plants.Super simple to set up: the pump only has two connections - one going into your bucket of water (with a input filter submerged in the bucket), the other one carries the fresh water to the plants. With a lot of "T" connectors and "X" connectors, it was easy to direct the drip water spikes. One more thing, this is a wifi setup so you can turn off or give extra water from anywhere in the world!Unlike most apps that come with an app, this unit was a breeze to setup. Seriously, I have spent an hour or more fiddling with settings on other wifi products. This works first time and pairs easily to wifi.

Perfect when traveling away from home.
It was easy to install after reading all the instructions. Everything works well, no leaks. The pump is strong enough to push the water up a few feet as advertised. The minimum amount of time on the timer is 20 seconds and you can adjust it by the seconds, not just minutes which is good. And the minimum irrigation repeat cycle is by every 1 hour (adjustable to days and hours) .Two things worth mentioning are:1. The app in the phone will only connect with the device through your home Wi-Fi when you plug in a USB cable to the RainPoint which comes with it (with USB connection, you don't need to use AA batteries). And the app is the only way to schedule timed irrigation or change the amount of time of manual irrigation. So if you want to run schedules or remotely use the phone app when you are away from home to turn it on and off, you need to have the USB cable hooked up to the device (BTW it works fine with standard 5V cell phone chargers and USB outlets). On batteries (if not connected via USB cable), you can only manually press the button on the device to start irrigation (by default it's for 30 seconds, after which it will stop on its own. But you can change the manual irrigation time if you connect the USB cable and then adjust it in the phone app). Bottom line: for remote use and scheduling, always keep it plugged it.2. The specifications note 30l/h water flow but my calculation is that it irrigates at approx. 22-23 liters per hour. So if you care about the exact amount of water for your plants, run your own test when you attach the main pipe to the pump's outlet before you split it into many irrigation points (so you can easily measure how much water is being dispensed per minute into one container)

The concept is good but the product performs poorly
Do not buy this irrigation system. I repeat, do not buy this irrigation system. The RAINPOINT WiFi Automatic Watering System conceptually is a good idea. Unfortunately, there are so many problems with this product that it is inadvisable to purchase. First, the pump is very weak. I had the pump connected to 7 plants, one which required 4 drippers. Only the first two plants were watered. The plants downstream remained dry. Second, the system leaks. I used hot water to heat the ends of the hose during installation to insure tight connections. Nevertheless, water leaked between the hose and the dripper rather than from the dripper itself. The out port barb of the pump leaked as well. Because the hose barb is shielded in the pump housing, there is very little that can be done to resolve this issue. There are numerous reviews that mention the siphoning effect. That is, after the pump is turned off, water will continue to flow. In such instances flooding can occur. This problem is easily resolved using a one way inline valve (also known as a check valve). Before someone claims that the check valve impeded proper water flow through the system, the water flow problem existed before I installed the check valve. Connecting the pump to WiFi is straightforward and the app is straightforward as well after reading the information on the website. The manual is not very good with illustrative pictures too small to view necessary detail. It's really too bad that this device doesn't work, even marginally. The idea is great but I suspect the engineers who developed this system didn't test it extensively.

Worked great when new. Had an issue using it a year later.
I used this for a number of orchids when I was on holiday. When it was new, it worked great. I let it sit idle for about a year and tried to use it. When I did a test run, the water intake didn’t seem to work. The app just kept showing “No water”. I eventually got it going by forcing water into the intake tube. I tested a few more times with no issues. About a week later (when I was away on holiday) I tried to manually turn on the water, but it seems that the intake could not draw the water (the app again showed “No water”). Fortunately, when I returned from holiday the orchids were fine.

Great auto waterer for most uses cases - Not perfect but great for the money.
I thought a WIFI based auto watering system was going to be 1, expensive, and 2, hard to implement.I was wrong. This thing is almost perfect.I can schedule the water to go for 30 sec every hour, or 20 min every 5 days. The UI is nice and easy to configure for what you need or want. ABSOLUTLY Crazy that all this functionality comes at such a low price.Cons.Wires could be longer.Hose was good but hard to push into some of the fittings without a little heat (Blow dryer worked).UI could inform me when water is starting and when cutting off, which could have been useful when I was wondering if it was working or not.The dripper system is awesome, but some of the down spouts drip more water than others. I guess water flows in the path of least resistance, so I guess it cant be perfect and drip the exact amount for each plant.Final words, BUY THIS THING NOW. The issues I have with it is nitpicking at best.I can officially take off for weeks at a time and not worry about watering my plants. Just throw a 5 gallon bucket of water next to your grow and let it sip from there.

Muy buen desempeño.
el desempeño es optimo, sin embargo debes de mantenerlo conectado siempre para que puedas hacer la programación del "auto regado", este es el único problema que le veo. Estoy pensando en comprar uno nuevo.

Easy watering devise
I just received this unit and so far I am impressed. Connection to my wifi network was easy - you do need to have it on a 2.4Ghz network. The Rain Point app works well and is easy to navigate. I set it up so that the output from the Rain Point pump goes vertical for about 18" before running horizontally to my plants to avoid any potential siphoning.I mocked up all the lines with the drip emitters in place and measured the water output over 5 minutes. I found it took around 8 minutes to deliver 2l of water equally through 2 sets of emitters - 6 in total. I have 3 emitters in 2 plant pots so 1l per plant over 8 min. As long as the lines from the "t" fittings are equal length the pressure and flow rate should be equal from each emitter. I could see unequal flow from the emitters if you just had them t'ed off of a central line and in a row.So far I'm impressed with how everything works, the only issue I have is that getting the tubing onto the drip emitters is a bit tough.A good buy for sure!
