Red Sea’s Coral Pro Salt contains biologically balanced, elevated levels of the foundation elements (Calcium, Magnesium, Carbonates) necessary for sustainable, accelerated coral growth. Coral Pro Salt is ideal for reef aquariums, in particular for LPS and SPS corals, and for growing coral frags.Natural seawater includes over 70 chemical elements and although most of the elements influence the water parameters, a few of them have a more significant role in its overall chemical stability. These elements form the foundation of the reef environment and they include the three major elements: calcium, magnesium and bi-carbonates. These three ‘foundation elements’ have a major effect on the water chemistry (pH stability, alkalinity, seawater ionic strength) and on many of the coral’s biological processes (skeleton formation, ion- exchange, photosynthesis). All-natural eco-friendly harvesting from the waters of the exotic Red Sea Biologically balanced levels of foundation elements Full complement of trace elements Guaranteed parameters for 10liter / 2.5gal mix. No nitrates or phosphates (algae nutrients). No toxic levels of Heavy Metals. No chemical binders. Low moisture content. Unlike the natural reef environment, where there is an immense reservoir of the foundation elements, the reef aquarium has limited resources that are quickly depleted by the aquarium inhabitants. Therefore, in order to enable sustainable coral growth it is necessary to maintain higher than natural levels of the foundation elements. Original research carried out in Red Sea’s laboratory has shown that in a closed system (an aquarium) a specific ratio between the foundation elements of calcium, magnesium and carbonates (alkalinity) is necessary for coral vitality and the formation of a robust aragonite coral skeleton. This ratio must be maintained especially when inc

Good salt for reef tanks
I changed from reef crystals from my LFS to Red Sea coral pro and an RODI filter at my home to save cash. I am definitely noticing growth in a lot of my blastos and acans. My Elephant ear coral has split twice since changing and my Xenia have gone from a tiny drag to a giant bloom covering the rock they are on. Even my stubborn Goniopora opens more the. It did before. My zoas, torch and hammer corals on the other hand, have closed up and haven’t fully opened since I started using Red Sea Coral Pro. I test weekly and my parameters are pretty much the sameAs they were when I was using reef crystals. Not sure if they like it. I’m going to keep using it though. It dosent seem to leave salt crust like reef crystals does, and it’s really easy to mix. Overall more pros than cons with this salt. I’d recommend it.

A bit misleading
When I bought this I was thinking it was the large bucket of salt! These picture really should have some kind of reference to their size. They weren't much bigger than a gallon of milk. When I ordered the double size, I didn't know I was just going to get 2 little buckets. I realized after my purchase that the large size is 175 gallons, not 110! So I paid about .20 a pound more than if I would have got what I wanted (the 175 Gallon bucket)...If there just would have been something in the photo to reference the size of the bucket, I would not have made the mistake....

No complaints
Picture is If you need a size comparison to the “big bucket” here it is, you are looking at the coral Pro salt item. 15lb where as the large one is just under 50lb. The coral pro (small purple) I was told is better for the mixed reef system, giving it a try. I like that the bucket was a reasonable weight for me.

My favorite salt!
The kH in my tank before using this was 4… after using it for a month it brought it up to 10! I have had no issues with this - I know previous comments say negative things about the shipping, mine arrived just fine!
