PowerPure 4000 Warm and Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier

Very silent, quite efficient. The buttons on the front don't always work as expected (I have to touch a bit on the side) but since there's also a remote it's not close to be a problem. There's an auto mode to select the desired humidity level which I don't use because: depending on the fog orientation, the detector will fluctuate too much; I fear (possibly for nothing) that the frequent on/off cycles would use the device too fast.There are 3 speed levels and even on the first one you'd need to refill every day (based on 24h on mode).

There are real design issues with this product. I have the powerpure 3000 that I love, but I wanted to try the "warm mist" in the colder months. No Thanks.It spits water all over the place, the warm mist is not warm, the blue light is WAY too bright and lights up entire bedroom at night, and to make things worse, the humidity sensor turns unit on & off, on and off, which in turn turns the blue light in and off constantly. If you want to sleep with a super bright blue blinking light, like your bedroom is in a nightclub, then this is for you. Returing after 1 night of usage. Had to shut off 2 hours into sleep. Not pleased.The instructions are absolutely terrible and are as minimal as possible. The warm mist is apparantly activated using the lower most button on the front of the unit, and is not easy to see this in the instructions.Pictures I am posting show the 3000 on the left and the 4000 on the right in case you want to see the size difference. There is very minimal info on the actual size of these units online. For your reference the 4000 measures the following at the widest point at the base of the unit: 7"wide X 8.5" deep X 13.75" tall.

The water bin leaked a little from one corner of the top when I turned it upside down to fill it. No problem, I just held my thumb over it and filled it fast. After 2 weeks, it leaked from the bottom when I put it on the machine. I tightened the screw cap. I washed it thoroughly as per the directions. It still lost half the volume of water from the bottom within 3 minutes. Just after Christmas, I contacted Allergy Buyers Club (the vendor through Amazon) and explained the situation. Today I got an e-mail notice that they are shipping me a replacement and that I don't need to return the faulty unit. It gets 3 stars because the humidifier I received is worth no stars and the customer service is worth 5 stars. When I have used the replacement for 4-6 weeks, I will revise this review if warranted.Update: I received the replacement fairly quickly. The top does not leak. The screw cap drips a little. I am afraid to tighten it since it is plastic and I don't want to strip it. I may look for an o-ring for it, but so far so good.

So far so good, no leaking, or problems; seems like a workhorse. It was worth the price to get a humidifier that seems stable and very well made, not a piece of junk. Only disadvantage is having to turn the tank upside down to fill it. For a slight person it can be heavy. I've been using distilled and bottled water. With severe arthritic hands I find it hard to screw and unscrew the cap/filter where you fill it so it won't leak. Humidifier options are very nice (lights, timing, humidity level, etc.) The manufacturer should include some type of diagram naming the specific parts, like which is the inducer. Other than the above I am very happy with it thus far. I would recommend it.

Just got it. How do you use warm mist? Manual doesn't say?!

This is a fantastic humidifier. Plenty of space in the tank. I did have to put some electrical tape over the light under the tank (it lights up the water quite a bit) but that was no biggie at all. Easy to remove and refill the water. Love the ceramic filter, no extra media to buy ever. Tank and filter easy to clean (follow the directions for cleaning). Love the settings that it offers. It simply does the job, and does it well. I've tried several others, they do not compare.

Stopped working after four months of occasional usage. Also, the area surrounding the ultrasonic unit that develops the water vapor must be cleaned daily as it constantly develops mold, something I've never encountered with other humidifiers. Not pleased.

I`d recommend but do diligence on cleaning every two weeks
