Go Gear SP571204 12V Personal Tower Fan

I choose this model after reading other reviews on it. I would agree that it is fairly quiet but it did not fit the cup holder in the car. We bought it so the dog would have circulating air in the back seat since she gets so anxious. We tried to rig it with tape and a strap to the console aiming it to the back seat but within ten minutes of the trip the fan toppled over. We will try again next trip with another idea but I wish it had fit the cup holder as intended!

While this product does work to an extent, the design could use some serious improvements. The air intake is located on the back of the unit, which presents a major issue depending on how your cup holders are laid out. In some vehicles the air intake was obstructed preventing a good flow of air if you put a drink in the other cup holder.The next design flaw would be that in deep cup holders that are found in some vehicles some of the front vent can be obstructed, which of course results in poor performance from the fan. The final design flaw for me would be the cable placement, why would you make the cable come out the bottom of the unit knowing it is going to be placed in a cup holder? This makes cable management a nightmare, and depending on what you put in your cup holders a damaged cable due to sharp objects.I'm giving this product 2 stars because I could see it working in some vehicles or settings, however buyer beware of the measurements and the design flaws I've mentioned above otherwise you'll end up disappointed if you check as an afterthought.

This thing is noisy, doesn't move much air, and doesn't fit any cup holder I've yet tried it in. It's TOO BIG for most cup holders, and I own FIVE DIFFERENT CARS. We also have Ford Trucks and golf carts at work (where I intended to use use it) and it doesn't fit into the normal sized cupholders of the trucks, and is loose in the golfcarts holders, which are oversized. This is a problem, since it is also top-heavy, and will go flying out if you actually drive around in a vehicle with it.The base is a straight cylindrical shape, with no taper. If it was gently tapered along it's length, like a waxed paper or plastic cup from literally any fast food restaurant you can name, it would likely work with most of the cup holders I have. It doesn't work in my Toyota, Ford, Mini, or VW cupholders. Considering that's it's PURPOSE, and one that it advertises on the box, that's pretty pathetic. I would have returned it, but like I said, it bounced out of the cupholder on a golfcart and was scuffed up, so now I'm stuck with it, even though it's worthless.

I wasn't expecting the world from this fan, primarily due to its low price, but I've been pleasantly surprised. The AC in my car died years ago, but the vent fan still blew out a decent amount of air. Then the vent fan died, so I bought this fan to move air inside the car. It fits just fine in my cup holder, moves enough air to provide some genuine relief from the heat, and while it's not exactly quiet, I don't find it intolerably noisy either.Overall, this little tower fan does the job. I wish it had low and high settings (the only two speeds are on and off), but it's inexpensive and meets my needs. I really can't ask for much more than that.Update: The fan died after three summers. Given the price, I don't consider that a negative, so I'm not going to deduct any stars. I just wanted to update the review with this information. You can decide for yourself whether three years of service represents an acceptable level of longevity for this type of device.

Excellent item. But Amazon website should come with more details of any product with more pictures from different angle. The cord length is of 5 feet which was not mentioned in the website and I tried to get that information from the customer care centre but they failed to provide any further information. As a result I had to buy an extension which was actually not required. The item is good but you can not move the fins in left right direction. But you can move the fins upward/downward. Good item....very good item for the back seat passengers.

This is a good product if you have no a.c. to keep you from dying (my ac died so I was sweating to death) lol but don't expect it to blow cool/cold air. If it's hot out it'll just move hot air and it is a little noisy but not bad. Also a good product to move cold air from an ac to the back seats. I used it quite a bit the last 2mos of summer and never had a problem with it.

Definitely does well in Vegas heat. I have it in the back seat of my car because I don't have back air vents and I use it for my daughter. Helps circulate the air and keep it cool.

In principle this is a good product. However I own a 1992 Honda Accord and it doesn't fit my cup holders. The fan in my car doesn't move the air very far so there is heat and a/c in the front seat but not in the back where my grand-baby sits. This fan brings in air from the low sides and possibly from the top. If it fit in my cup holder it wouldn't be high enough to draw the air in. It is well made, push button on top is easily reached and with a different car it might work well. 5 foot cord is just adequate to reach a cup holder on the floor of the back seat but again although it's 12 v of power is good, it's not good enough for my situation. So baby doesn't travel with me when it's above 80 in summer. Will try another product and return this.
