Q: There are no instructions to follow and the website is non existent. Now what?

Instructions? For a lunch bag? Here: Prepare lunch. Place in container or wrap. Put ice pack in lunch bag, followed by prepared lunch. Zip closed. I’m sure there are videos on YouTube showing how to do this if there is any confusion.

Q: Can anyone confirm if it will fit a 12 inch tall Thermos or water bottle inside the main compartment and able to close the zipper?

On the inside, from the bottom to the zipper is about 11 inches. If it is not stuffed full, there should be enough give in the zipper area to zip it closed. I put a ruler in mine and was able to zip over it easily because the material had enough give. If it were packed with more items and the sides were pushed out, you may not be able to zip it closed over the water bottle. Hope that helps!

I have no issues with the lining. I don’t over stuff it with containers but it’s pretty solid and lays flat. I love this bag!

It don't seem the zipper is metal. But it is quite durable. I pack a lot of stuff in this bag and no problem.
