The mobile is easy to hang on the ceiling cuz it's very light. It hangs up high so don't worry about infants reaching it and put in mouths. I hang my origami animals on the mobile it looks pretty nice and baby loves it. The string is short but I don't want her to be able to reach it anyway. To prevent the little arms from running into each other, just fasten each of the two upper arms with the garbage bag ties or short wires. And it all works! Love this mobile for its simplicity and low price.

I wanted to make a very light weight mobile for my baby's room using paper cutouts and light wire AND for a good price. I was not feeling up to making the entire mobile from scratch, so this product provided an inexpensive base structure to work from. I added in 16 fishing swivels (which is enough for one swivel at each major connection) to enable more movement. Without the fishing swivels the two arches kept laying flat against each other and afterward they now sit more at 90 degrees to each other which is what i wanted. I also lengthened the distance between the two main arches at the top and thus giving a better layering effect and dimension to the items attached at the bottom. I attached to the clips woodland creature and Mr. Foxy Fox cut outs that I found on amazon.. in fact there are a number of party supply decorations that would work great for mobiles. I then placed cut out leaves on the back of each animal to add interest. (I made the leaves myself using a paper cutter.) I also stuck some cut out leaves into the top of each triangle to bring color upwards and add further interest. (I could only do this because the coiled wire is tight enough to hold onto cardstock esp if used multiple layers.) I did not put any sounds into the mobile, but if you want you can also add in little chime bells, tiny jingle bells, etc. I opened the top loop and made it into a hook for easier hanging. Plus hanging was a breeze since the weight of the mobile is so low. Overall, I am very pleased with the final results and this product.

I got this mobile to display the Wee Gallery art cards for my baby's nursery. First, some more info that's hard to suss out from the product description: 1. The clips for the photos are just spiral wires, like paper clips. They didn't work for my heavy weight cards. 2. There is nothing (I mean nothing!) included for actually hanging the mobile, so you'll have to go to the hassle of getting to the hardware store. So, what you get for your money is basically just a flimsy set of wires. You have to do a bit to put it together and the instructions are on the outside of the box, making it hard to save them. Also, once you get it together, it won't stay together very well unless you take matters into your own hands with a set of pliers. Amazon and lots of other places recommend the Kikkerland mobiles for the Wee Gallery cards. I haven't tried the other one but I think it suffers from a lot of the same problems (though it seems to have alligator clips...alas, reviewers complain that they damage photos). Those problems are: 1. Clips don't fit the cards. 2. No way to attach to a crib. You're on your own to suspend from ceiling (hard for me since I have 15ft ceilings). 3. This one is probably too big for a crib. A judgment call, but basically it's large enough that it would be hard to put the baby in the crib without it always being in the way. 4. Nothing about this product screams quality or longevity. It's really just a bare bones set of wire. Irritating to write this because I don't have a better recommendation. I think I'm going to try to MacGyver my own using a crib clamp and some parts from an old Umbra Fotofalls I have (which has Alligator clips sans teeth). Frustrating cause I'd rather just buy something that works.

I got a new granddaughter last August. Just before she was born, her father's mother passed away. Great grandparents are gone as well. I got these for her to remember all of her family, including those that have passed before her. I kind of wished there were a place for more pictures. There was enough for her parents, grandparents, great grandparents (as couples), and aunts and uncles. I would have liked to include great aunts and uncles as well. Still a great idea, easy to work with, at a good price.

Light weight and perfect for pictures or anything not too heavy to be displayed. I have two of these and use them to hang origami cranes as a display.
