Alfi Glass Vacuum Frosted Plastic Carafe, 1 L, Black (AG2800BK2)

I'll let the photo speak for itself. Poured the coffee into the pot at 7:15 AM and tested it at the end of my workday at 5:45 PM and it was still a respectable 132 degrees after 10 1/2 hours. Nothing without a heater is going to keep coffee piping hot that long but this thing makes it so I can still enjoy a cup of coffee into the afternoon without any burnt taste from a hot plate. Needless to say, I'm impressed and it was worth the money. My favorite part is the fact that the inside is glass which makes cleaning it a breeze compared to stainless steel which eventually stains and embeds stale coffee that you have to scrub off with an abrasive cleaner. One word of caution though is that coffee will leak into the handle area over time so every once in awhile you should run some hot water into the back side of the handle and shake it around to get out the buildup. I don't think any of that touches the contents but rather it seems to be from the fact that it doesn't have a perfect seal. Speaking of seal, mine also drips a little if you turn it upside down like the video review shows but it doesn't seem to affect the insulation based on my tests.What I will say since I see some more recent negative reviews is that I bought this late 2020 so if quality went down since then I can't speak on it but it's still going strong for me after over two years of fairly regular use.

I have always had Alfi Carafes. LOVE them! This one is behaving as I expect Alfi's to function--keeping liquids HOT. It s my travel companion on my long drives to work and for during the day, allowing me to have hot coffee all day long! I have not tried cold products. I would always have an Alfi. My former one lasted me 12 yrs, with no problems or loss of function. My last one shattered when I accidently dropped it on a concrete walkway coming home from work! I was devastated and very happy to find another to suit my needs perfectly! Inexpensively. I chose the black, because it doesn't show the coffee stains that my former white one did. But then, It was 12 yrs old! I love the vacuum constructed glass insert, as it is easily cleanable with bleach, as necessary, does not extra drip outside of pouring! All in all--highly recommended!!

This carafe works great for keeping 6 cups of coffee hot for about 4 hours. I am basing cups on coffee pot measure, 5 ozs/cup. The carafe is designed well, looks good and functions easily by pressing on thumb tab above handle. The last carafe I had needed to be slightly unscrewed to pour. This is more convenient. It is also easy to clean.This is NOT for a party nor is it for heavy coffee drinkers. There is also a serious drop off in temperature between 4 and 6 hours. If I had to buy again I would probably go for a 1.5 or 2 liter which would actually hold a full pot of coffee (8-12 cups).With all that said, if you are looking to keep 6 cups of coffee hot for 4 hours or less, this works wonderfully.p.s. I am like some others who also like to warm up the carafe with hot water. Why pour steaming hot coffee in a 60-70 degree carafe? I think this also helps with the seal when screwing cap on. At least that's my theory! ;-)

I make my coffee in a french press, and even with a somewhat insulated press, my second cup was always significantly less hot than my first. With this carafe, I can have a second, and sometimes even a third cup - all at high temps!Now, to be fair, after maybe 4-6 hours, depending on how much liquid is left, the temp will start to drop some. But, I have poured out coffee from the previous day and it *was* still warm, albeit not hot. So the insulation does a good job overall.Also, since it's glass-lined and not aluminum, there's no change to the flavor of the coffee after it's been poured into the carafe.Pro tip: preheat your carafe with hot/boiling water to get the maximum heat retention for your hot beverages!

I have tried many carafes over the past several years and have never found one to keep my coffee as hot as my Thermos I bring to work each day. This one actually did! I always fill the carafe with boiling water while the coffee steeps, but I have had coffee hours later when partially full and the coffee is still steaming hot. The spout is drip free and easy to use compared to many others.The color matches nothing and it looks inexpensive with the plastic outer covering, but the price was a bargain in this color so I gave it a try and find it to be the best one yet.

The media could not be loaded. For over 40 years I enjoyed the gift of a handsome chrome Alfi carafe by my European family. After several moves, it became slightly dented but retained content temperatures for at least 8 hrs. The one thumb to push open close the hinged lid was very convenient and safe. Unfortunately, the glass interior shattered after I poured boiling water into the carafe sitting on a wet stainless steel sink. I had done that for many years but I guess this episode was one too many for the oldster.This new Alfi model I received today, has a screw open close lid which I find inconvenient. Alfi had been bought by Thermos which I read has been acquired by China. This economical model is handsomely designed but more awkward to use as the unscrewed spout to dispense is rather small. I especially don’t like to screw open and close the lid which is a two handed operation for which reason I am returning.
