OMG, OMG, OMG!! I'm so in love with the Darlingtons. Some of their ideas parallel mine, some ARE. mine, some are so much better than mine that I'll never tell ANYBODY they weren't mine I adore these two and their menus/recipes that can even apply to similarly themed newer movies. You figure out which ones, they've already spoiled us by doing too much work. Their recipes are simple, but not ordinary. Straightforward, but not boring. They are delightful and hone right in on period and place. For someone who has "played this game" matching movies and food and finding a couple eerily on the same frequency is astounding, a huge surprise, pleasure and a brilliant opportunity to fall in love with classic movies, good food that's fun and two new and wonderful friends. Wow.

This book traces the history of films and food or drinks that go with them. Each chapter covers a different film tells you something about it and gives recipes for food and cocktails either in the film or inspired by it. for example Casablanca has a Morrocan dish that certainly they might have eaten in the city but never drank, and a french 75- a wonderful cocktail that you do hear ordered. over all it's fun. If you love movies or cooking it is a fun little book and you might even want to watch the movies . though I'll confess. it will be a long time before I want to try the avacado based booze they suggest for 'rope'

I got this for my fiancée and he absolutely loves it. We already did “the lady from Shanghai” and the chicken fried rice tacos, guacamole and margaritas. And we can’t wait to plan another night. They give you great tips on planning everything from an intimate night with cocktails to a full on dinner party full on with decor and finger foods. If you like to cook and love great movies, you’ll find hours of enjoyment from this book.

Good selection of menus

This book is really two great books in one. I love it more than anticipated. The movie synopsis pages really inspire me to go back and see the movies. The recipes are unique, especially the cocktails but very reasonable ingredients and sound tasty. They add in facts about the movie, actors and reasons to match the recipe with the movie. Very good quality and price

This was a Christmas gift for a couple who enjoys old movies, great food, and fun cocktails. This book has all three!

Anyone who loves to cook and/or enjoys cocktails will find this book valuable. If you love classic films, this is a must have. The recipes are inspired by the movies, and each one is accompanied by delightful vignettes about that particular film. There are also wonderful pictures throughout.

I bought this for my dad for xmas and him and his wife loved it. Lots of great movies and mixes to look through.

How can you not love a book that starts with "For everyone who chooses to live life behind bars"? It's just a wow. So cool and sexy and timeless. Great gift for man or woman. Greta cocktails. Great pictures. The author is a master of filmology.

The book itself arrived in excellent condition and is a must for classic movie buffs and food enthusiasts alike
