The Chinoise Mahjong set is beautiful and the tiles are quite sturdy. The blue floral pattern is vibrant and they are easy to shuffle for playing the game. It seems like the tiles were "dipped" in acrylic because there is no glue line where the clear part of the tile connects to the floral part. It feels smooth all around. Extra tiles are provided within the packaged tiles so I recommend separating them according to likeness before you play to remove those extras. I didn't do that, ended up with 8 extra tiles after set up, and had to do the match up before starting over.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out a mahjong set that, overall, was fantastic. The set was well-made, with sturdy tiles and a beautiful design that was both pleasing to the eye and easy to handle. The pieces were also easy to shuffle and manipulate during gameplay, which made for a more enjoyable overall experience.Unfortunately, one of the only flaws with this set was that some of the symbols were not easy for beginners to understand. Specifically, the flowers and 1 of bamboo were hard to recognize, which could cause confusion during gameplay. This was particularly frustrating for new players who were still learning the ropes of the game.Despite this flaw, I still believe that this mahjong set is a great choice for anyone who is looking for a high-quality, durable set that will last for years to come. It would be especially ideal for more experienced players who are already familiar with the symbols and can easily identify them during gameplay.Overall, while the lack of clarity in some of the symbols is definitely a drawback, it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the set. If you're a seasoned mahjong player looking for a new set to add to your collection, or if you're willing to put in a bit of extra effort to learn the more difficult symbols, I would definitely recommend giving this set a try.
