very flimsy
I own metal sink bridges made by Tojiro (costing about $140), Naniwa(about $60), and this Suehiro (about $38). The relative cost of each bridge correlates loosely to the quality of the bridge. In turn, the quality correlates roughly with the heft and the amount of expensive stainless steel used in the construction of each bridge. The Tojiro, being the most expensive, is the widest and the heaviest. The Tojiro is also made of the thickest gauge stainless steel and is proverbially "built like a tank." The Tojiro does not either flex or twist even when a significant amount of force is applied to any part of the bridge. Flexing and twisting are different motions. The Naniwa is lighter and more slender than the Tojiro and is also made of a thinner gauge stainless steel than the Tojiro. The Naniwa doesn't flex when force is applied in the middle, but the Naniwa twists when a relatively small amount of force is applied on either the left side or right side of the bridge.Lastly, we come to the Suehiro bridge. Compared to the rock-solid Tojiro or even the lighter Naniwa, the Suehiro is flimsy. The Suehiro is made of the thinnest gauge stainless steel among the three brands. Due to its thin gauge construction, the Suehiro bridge will flex AND twist. The plusses with the Suehiro are: 1) it's relatively inexpensive and 2) it has rubber feet that allow the Suehiro bridge to be used on the kitchen countertop without sliding. If I didn't already have a Tojiro and a Naniwa, I might consider the Suehiro an acceptably decent bridge. However, in terms of performance, the Suehiro pales in comparison with the Tojiro and the Naniwa. I might keep the Suehiro and give it away as a Christmas present next year.
