TOTO® SoftClose®Slow Close Round Toilet Seat and Lid,Cotton White - SS113#01

Ok, Ok... So two words. So this is my second TOTO toilet seat in 11 years on this toilet and I have 4 TOTO toilets with this seat. The closer work as intended for the life of the seat. and non have physically broken in this 11 to 12 year time. These are Easy to install and dont move around on the bowl like some. I dont recall ever having to re-tighten them down to the bowl, Which is either a credit to the seat or a discredit to my memory. Could be one or both. Fits perfectly aligned to the bowl and the hinges dont flex like some so the seat does not slide off of the bowl when I squirm around like some (if not most) do. It cleans up easy as well. My mom has had 2 Store Brand seats with closures that fell apart after a few short years, albeit were 20 dollars cheaper ..ahh... Less money per seat than these. To be more accurately portrayed. Now for the Bad: the lid is Hard plastic and the seat appears to be hard plastic as well, but after some years of peoples rings impeding across the surface, they get scratched, as well as where the lid has the 2 stops. When they scratch they sort of peel like as though they were painted or more coated over with a layer. This layer is nearly the same color, to a more darker color, as shown in the pictures. Also where one sits the layer develops mini craters/ bubbles and becomes unattractive and unsanitary. Further, the description says solid plastic. This has been the only issue I have had with these. the one shown is 12 years old. To me, They are worth the Money mostly because they are such good quality but could be so much better if this coating was eliminated altogether. I will try contacting TOTO directly on this as well. Again I've replaced one already And after 3 years is starting to show some peal evidence again. This one toilet is in a very high traffic area in a home of 3 so its not in a professional office building where it sees 60 bums a day. Just a few. Please look at pictures and I will update this listing when I have new information. 2/14/2019 update sent email to TOTO a week ago and have not heard back yet. But I will update.. We just replaced the other two toilet seats. Even the one in the Master Bath had finally lost its soft-close ability. The new element in the box was two pieces of clear silicone that fit between the toilet and the hinges. The intent is to ensure the seat doesn't move, a complaint seen here from some others. So that was a good thing. Everything else said, below, from 5 years ago, still applies. Great product, easy swap out, makes the bathroom look like new. ******** This has to be the easiest DIY fix in the whole house. It takes about 10 minutes to change out the old seat for the new. And, in contrast to some reviewers, I found the new seat fit the old toilet perfectly. In fact, the new seat has two slots, and not just round holes, for the fasteners. Therefore, you can adjust the seat by about 1/2" forward or backward to ensure it lines up with the front of the toilet. And a word about how long the soft close feature lasts. I installed 3 Toto toilets, each with a soft close seat, about 12 years ago. The one in the MBR still works almost like new. On the other two, however, the top has lost its soft close feature because, I believe, the users in those bathrooms manually push down the top whenever they close it. The seat itself, on both toilets, is still soft close, which supports my theory. (The seats being put up much less frequently than the top.) So, I expect this new seat to retain it's soft close feature for many years to come. The price on Amazon is just terrific. And as to style, the transitional does not have a bevel on the top, so it looks just like the one I replaced. The only downside to these toilet seats, I think, is that if you use something even mildly abrasive to clean them, they scratch and lose their sheen. All in all, a well made product, with a very useful feature, that practically installs itself.

We have a Toto toilet, and I initially chose another brand of toilet seat because of price and other features. The other brand did not fit very well, and we returned it. We opted to spend more and get this Toto seat hoping it would fit better, and it did. It fits perfectly, was easy to install, and is easy to clean. I initially didn't think I would like a plastic seat vs a wooden one, but this is a good quality plastic. I thought the plastic would look and feel cheap and flimsy, but this seat is so well designed with quality materials. I also didn't think I would like a soft close seat (and it does take a while to close), but this is completely silent and indeed closes with just a soft touch. This seat is definitely worth the extra cost.

Expensive but high quality, good replacement for our original Toto toilet seat after years of use. Easy to install.

It's a little lightweight compared to lids from years past but plenty durable, perfect color match. The soft close feather needs to have the lid raised 6 or more inches. If it slips out of your hand lower than that at 2 am it's going to snap down. From full open it's perfectly quiet, goes down very slow. Easy to install. You'll need a slotted screwdriver to tighten it from the top. The plastic bolts underneath have a tab that will catch on the bowl so you don't have to hold them once you spin them on.

I was very happy to find this replacement at the price I paid. Considering this item is very difficult to find and most home improvement or 3rd party retailers try to charge you an arm and a leg. The item was delivered quickly and fit perfectly. I did not have any issues installing it and it has been working great ever since.

The Toto elongated toilet is a bit of an odd size, so after years of being annoyed by our discoloured and somewhat peeling original seat (was in poor condition when we moved in so not sure how long it lasted before getting into that state), I searched for options. I was only able to find 3 possibilities (this original Toto design, and 2 knock-offs that claimed to be the right dimensions), and decided to go with the Toto. The soft-close lid works well, though is a bit slow (I often push it down), and installation was very easy. It is not as solid as the original seat, but doesn't feel flimsy. My only complaint is that it moves around a little. I installed the seat almost 5 months ago, and no signs of any degradation and it has been easy to clean.
