Q: Can you place a mini alcohol stove inside this unit instead of wood? (It only mentions solid alcohol).

Hello, we do not recommend using a mini alcohol stove. Due to the weak flame of alcohol, the stove is relatively high and difficult to boil.

Q: Can you place this on a picnic table or aluminum table

I have used this on an aluminum table but I set it on a small cookie tray that used to fit in a toaster oven. It just add a little extra protection to any surface is below and helps to catch ashes that may fall out of the tray at the bottom.

Q: What’s the max weight you can put on top of the stove?

I wouldn't go any heavier then 20 pounds. I cooked about 7 ears of corn in a pot with it

No, the way it is designed doesn’t contain the fire enough for indoor use.
