First and foremost, these stick and stick, they are excellent. The chrome bit is of course plastic, but it's sturdy and it looks good. The hook itself is stainless steel and capped with a rubber tip that so far seems secure.The actual suction cup is soft and sticky and the best of its type I have used (and I've tried a few). Simply remove the backing plastic, press to the surface you want to use (it will stay temporarily all by itself! Then screw the handle to tighten and secure. Boom! Done! (Although you may wish to tighten it further a few hours later after it's settled).Congrats, you now have a powerful sturdy hook that will stay up for MONTHS.I wish all suction hooks were this good.

I bought these hooks 3 years ago when we were stationed in the UK. I was so impressed with them, I purchased 2 additional sets. They stuck to all kinds of unique surfaces like painted walls, plastic shower walls, wooden kitchen surfaces, and so on - basically, everywhere, where suction cups never stick. They also barely ever fell off - some of them once or twice a year. They are also easy to clean to be sticky again and they still look like new. We moved back to the US at the beginning of this year and I have to say that these hooks don't stick well to unique surfaces like painted walls here.

I bought these to hold our hand held shower head and they were easy to install, very secure and lookedin keeping with the crome taps.I was so impressed, I went on to buy the Sanno shower caddy and soap dish.
