Who Was Louis Braille?

"HE OPENED THE DOORS OF KNOWLEDGE TO ALL THOSE WHO CANNOT SEE."
This is a wonderful book about Louis Braille. In following his life we discover the history of his written language for the blind, his inspirations, and learn how he kept moving forward despite setbacks and frustrations. He didn't name writing with dots for himself, nor did he take all the credit for the system, he was a modest man who recognized the efforts, and value of others.

Son loved it
I recently bought my son some assorted "who was" books. As soon as he saw this one he opened it right up. He enjoyed this book a lot and has even read it again a few times which is rare for him.

Great book!
My 9 year old really enjoyed this book, I did too. I bought it because she loved the Helen Keller book and this was the perfect way to continue with a similar topic.

This one is good to have along with Who Was Hellen Keller
My kid loves these books. This one is good to have along with Who Was Hellen Keller. I love the larger print size and the small synopses on the back to inform the kids of what they will be reading.

Biography
Love these easy to read chapter books, especially biographies. These books are great for reading with unmotivated readers, for they are somewhat shorter than regular chapter books and they have narrowed down the information so as to be easier to read. Well done, interesting and fun to read and discuss.

Never fails
This book continues the "Who Was" tradition of books! Always a good series for children, this has just the right amount of information for students who are beginning to learn about biographies. If older students are unfamiliar with a topic, it's a good "go to" for basic information and is a quick read.
