Wytino 4.0W 30dB 915MHz RF Power Amplifier, 1PC, SMA Female Connector

This Amp had damaged connnectors and it had a very high unusable SWR reading. The only reason it did t get returned is because I forgot to do it in time

It did outperform in early portion of the bands. Overall, really impressed with performance. Did not go up in smoke during the bench mark!They did actually remove the prongs on the bottom side of the SMA so it lays flat on the heatsink (most don't). I did modify and put a thermal pad and left the legs on. The thermal pad is thicker than the legs and squished down.73,KC9oXP

This seems to be a transmission booster. It doesn't allow bi-directional communication, but the antenna line from my radio module (RFM69HCW) is leaky enough to allow some reception with this booster connected.The increase in signal strength seems good so far. I get an extra 20dB at close range. I haven't tested the maximum range yet. I seem to get the best gain increase at short range with GFSK modulation. OOK modulation yielded around 10dB of signal increase.The heatsink requires some forced airflow as it gets too hot for my liking.All in all it's a decent signal booster at an unbeatable price.

The amp delivers its specified power output (902.1 MHz) , however at the "recommended" operating voltage of 5 VDC that's only 2 watts. If I pushed 'er up to 5.5 volts, then 3.6 - 3.8 watts output. Current draw was around 1.9 - 2.2 amps - above the specified 1.2 - 1.8 amps. The device does get warm after short transmission intervals , but never exceeded 95 degrees F. My RF drive was from a HackRF One, set to max output on NFM. All-in-all, worth the money for experimenting on 33 cm.

Purchased it to be used on Meshtastic but found out they have to be bi-directional for that use -- sooo it won't work for Mesh radios
