Absolute junk. Avoid.
Where to start? Well, first of all, the batteries don't fit in this unit correctly (tried 3 different brands) they all stick to the side making them very difficult to remove. I could live with that, but this also means that the batteries hardly ever make a proper electrical contact with the battery clips and it just wont' come on most of the time. Which brings me to when it does actually work, it will give so many false positives, no matter what mode it is in, it makes it useless for detecting mains AC. I tried it on a basic lighting circuit, and I got AC readings no matter if the circuit was on or off. My Fluke tester worked as it should. I also confirmed the lack of AC when the circuit was off with a mulimeter. Lastly, it feels like cheap plastic that could be broken by looking at it funny. 1 Star rating from me, and that is being generous!

Not a dc detector
I cannot use it for the purpose it was advertised and bought for, which was detecting dc voltage.
