Mounting hardware is cumbersome and doesn't work well
I regret buying this product simply because of the mounting hardware designed to keep it on the bike was not very useful for me. Maybe a defect with my item but it's very difficult to slide the lock on and off the mount and it. The mounting hardware is also difficult to keep tight onto the bike frame make it loose and sometimes in the way when it moves to either side. After this experience I would prefer a lock that does not latch in the middle so I could more easily manually wrap it around the frame or store it in a bike bag.

Decent for short stops
I bought this ride for my alternate city bike to use for quick runs. It's light and easy to wrap around the seat for easy use. Can't say anything about the lock bracket itself as I am not using it. I wouldn't trust this lock for anything more than a quick run into a store or locking it somewhere with high visibility. Could be good for kids as it seems simpler to use than a large u lock.

Works
It works.Bought 2 of these.Small enough to be able to carry in side pocket of my shorts or in a backpack , easy to set up.Due to small diameter one would be concerned someone with an adequate tool will be able to steal their bike but well you cannot anticipate everything. It is well hidden under the bike seat while biking and does not need a cover or pouch.Works well to secure bikes in the basement of our apartment, or when parking them somewhere in downtown.5 star rating for the product. At least for now. If you want to have more peace of mind go and buy the rigid bicycle lock amde of steel.

Don't buy this piece of crap. ZERO STARS!
Well, long story short.... My bike has been locked to a pole behind my apartment for two weeks. Why? Well it's because this POS lock won't work. I only used the lock about 5 times, and I guess I'm lucky at least that my bike is locked behind my apartment. I ordered two new keys (for free) which came quickly.. but they don't work. I bought some silicon lubricant... still, the lock is stuck. WD40 failed as well... The lock is stuck.. and I'll need to get some bolt cutters to break it.. After some google searches, I see I'm not the only one with the problem... The Ulocks from Kryptonite are decent, but dont waste you money on this POS.

The item was good enough
The lock is quiet heavy and is not a good match for my road bike though. But it is good enough to hold the bike during mornings at open places. If your looking to leave your bike there through out the night then go for a stronger U lock.

Does the job well !
I live and bike in a very safe neighborhood. This lock is perfect for my bike. Since I do not have to worry about locks being cut and bikes stolen, this provides enough peace of mind when I leave my bike somewhere. Easy to fit to the bike and the good part is that the clamp fits any shape of cycle bar (within a size). Locks well, looks sturdy and is of a good length. I would recommend it if you are leaving your bike in a safe neighborhood.

deceptive
i thought it would coil, but it doesn't. the cable is very weak, can be broken easily, and it doesn't coil! i mean, if you're looking for a lock that will be a lightweight deterrent because you're in a safe neighborhood, get one that is convenient then. at the point where it's both unsafe and inconvenient, it's not worth your time.

Nice and solid - plastic keeps the cable from marring ...
Nice and solid - plastic keeps the cable from marring the paint. I use this to chain my motorcycle to the hitch on my truck where I park overnight at my apartment complex.
