Confirmed: Works great with iPhone 7 Plus and latest iOS 10.2 / see note on Pairing Problem Fix
Merry Christmas! No I didn't receive this as a gift, although it would have made a great stocking stuffer! It would be helpful if reviewers of these Bluetooth devices post what phone they have and which version of their operating system they are running. This review is based on the application for an iPhone 7 Plus w/iOS 10.2. Because I previously purchased one of those cheaper oval shaped remotes with the bigger round button for iOS and the smaller round button for Android on the front. It was a big fail because if you have an iPhone running iOS 10+ then you have to do a special re-paring procedure (that is even different from the first time pairing!) EACH TIME you want to use the stupid thing! Are you kidding me? I sent that thing back the next day. So beware iPhone users, read the descriptions/questions/reviews very carefully and make sure it works for your phone and the version of iOS you run. This Gadgin remote worked right out of the box for iPhone 7+/iOS 10.2 as I was cautiously anticipating. I did a function check using it as a camera shutter remote trigger as well as a video start/stop trigger and it worked flawlessly....without having to load any special App...the way it should be. This remote looks and feels ten times better too. Also comes with a nifty little black velvet pouch with pull-strings for storage as well as an extra CR2016 battery...nice touch! (you get one battery already installed in the remote plus an extra one) Pairing was quick and simple. Just turn on the remote, find it in your phone's Bluetooth settings and tap on it. The important part of my testing was to then switch the remote to OFF then back to on (several times) and it continued to work flawlessly without having to perform any type of pairing procedure again. Yes! Success! This remote costs more than twice as much as the first one I purchased but I don't mind paying a little more for something that WORKS, looks better, feels better in hand, comes with a storage pouch and an extra battery. This remote does have one small strange BUG, as noted by another reviewer. But it's questionable whether or not this will detract from it's purpose. While the remote is ON, if you attempt to compose a text message/iMessage, the keyboard stays hidden and you can't type anything. I don't think this will have an impact for the way I will be using the remote, which will mostly be for selfies. I will simply turn the remote off after I use it as my remote trigger. That's a habit I would do any ways so as to conserve the battery power. Me trying to text AND snap photos simultaneously....not going to happen. Any ways this information is good to know because if your keyboard suddenly becomes hidden then you know that's telling you that you left the remote on. This could actually be a useful "reminder" feature if you think about it!Update Aug 29, 2017: Pairing Problem? FixedI would like to add a note regarding a problem I had months later pairing this remote to my iPhone 7+. I did not understand it because I turned the Gadgin remote on, saw the blue light come on and flash like it is supposed to but my iPhone was not detecting it at all. I tried turning both devices off and on but still no success. I was afraid my remote had some internal failure. I finally tested the battery with a meter and discovered it was very low. I installed a fresh new battery and presto! It began working again. So a word of caution, even if you see the blue light come on and start flashing but yet it is not detected by your phone, try a installing a fresh battery. I am going to store my Gadgin remote with the battery removed just to be safe and have a better chance of it working when I need to use it at a moment's notice. Works fine again with my iPhone 7+ and we are at IOS 10.3.3 now.

Nice little clicker.
I wanted a remote shutter control for a cell phone I have set up on a gaming table for D&D so I didn't have to keep getting up from my seat to take pictures of the maps for my players. This little clicker works great. I have it paired to both an LG V35, a Pixel 6a, and an iPhone and it works perfectly with all of these.

very impressed on how easy this was to connect & use.
easy to sych with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to take photos without having to use a selfie-stick or ask a stranger to snap your photo and hope they don't run off with your phone! easy to use. nice on - off button on the side. more than sufficient distance to take group photos. includes a wrist strap too so you don't lose it easily. even comes with a nice carrying bag and an extra battery for when the 1st one finally passes away! no complaints at all here. tip - after first synched - if it is taking awhile to get your photo participants lined up - shut off the remote camera shutter and then turn it off so that it doesn't lose the connection or go to sleep mode which is actually there to save your battery life!

Great when you first use it BUT...
The first couple to three times it works great but after the first few times the battery life and reliability dwindles. I'll be two feet away sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't. You can change the battery but sometimes the cover won't go back on correctly and you also have to worry about losing the cover so I put some tape on mine to prevent that from happening. Even when I have bought a good quality replacement battery it has this reliability issue. It easy pairs with any device I use it with, but I have had reliability issue with EVERY product I have used it with on both Android and Apple phones/tablets.Summary: Good for the first few times then leaves you wishing you bought a better remote. Extremely unreliable after the first few uses.

Decisions
If you’re trying to decide between this and the Xenvo Shutterbug, get this instead. The Xenvo shutterbug wouldn’t connect via Bluetooth, no matter what I did. This item on the other hand, connected in seconds and was very easy to use.

Super Easy to Use
I had an older version of this and decided to upgrade. This one stays connected to my phone a lot better than the older version. The one thing I don't really care for is the on/off switch. I understand it helps with battery preservation, but when you're in a hurry to catch a great shot, sometimes it slows me down just a fraction of a second. Over all, it's a great product.
