California Costumes Women's Mythic Mermaid

This costume is probably one of the cheapest quality costumes I have ever purchased. It did not fit well and the entire bottom portion of the skirt was a scratchy stiff and wrinkled netting. The worst part is it was full of glitter that just falls off all over the place. They would not take it back for a return either. The top is a thin fabric with no lining at all. Overall very disappointed.

The waist was just a tad too big, but otherwise, it fit perfect! I thought it was a little cheesy, but I got so many compliments on it that night! I was finally the mermaid I always wanted to be :-)

I only purchased this costume with the intent to use the skirt since the one I originally wanted ended up selling out. The skirt worked well for my halloween costume and matched the top I made very well. The skirt was a tad bit long on me (I'm 5'5", 140lbs, and I got a M), but it wasn't horrible. Even though I didn't wear the top it came with, the pictures of it seem a bit deceiving as it looks like there are little gem stones on it, but really, they're just screen printed on the top. If I was using the top, I'd probably be pretty disappointed with this, but I never intended to use it anyway. All in all, it wasn't a bad costume and it worked for what I wanted it for.

Loved the skirt and it fit perfectly. It's also a little stretchy. The tail is one layer of material which disappointed me so I added more material. This made the tail poofier. The top was terrible. Its strips of material that you are supposed to artfully tie around your breasts. There is no support. I decided not to use it and made my own mermaid top. The seaweed belt was ok. There is a big strip of velcro on the back to attach it. If your super skinny you can hide it but if not you can plainly see the velcro. I used pieces of it to decorate my top I made. Glitter galore!!

I liked the skirt but too much glitter and the top is also too small.
