The Comfy Cone Pet Recovery Collar by All Four Paws, Medium, Tan

My 100 lb Rottweiler recently had entropion (eyelid) surgery so a cone was the only option to keep her from scratching her eyes. The vet sent her home with a plastic cone the day of the surgery & she was freaking out & kept vomiting so I immediately put this one on her as I had already purchased in preparation for the surgery. When I put this one on her, she freaked out even more & was able to rip it off within minutes. My dog is messy (as seen in the pictures) so rather than waste the money & have her destroy it, I immediately initiated a return. A week later she shattered the plastic cone by running full speed into the neighbors burn barrel. I didn’t realize she shattered it until I noticed an unusual smell coming from her & checked the plastic cone to see that it was entirely too tight & the broken piece caused an open wound on her neck. The plastic cone alone had caused a hot spot around her entire neck. Fortunately, baseball season prevented me from returning this cone so I swapped out the broken one & put this one on. I think the first time I didn’t put it on right because she was dizzy & vomiting & it was a stressful situation so I was rushing. The hotspot situation was also stressful as I didn’t want something to continue to rub her neck but my husband & I put the cone on together & it really is super easy to put on & take off. My kids can even do it. While there is no way to effectively heal the hotspot while she has any cone on, this one stays pretty secure above the spot so it’s not directly on it & if it does slip down, it’s not as irritating as the plastic one so the hotspot is showing some improvement. XL fits her perfectly & is long enough that she can’t get to her eyes with her paws or by rubbing her head on the furniture. She has learned to eat & drink with it on & when I tried doggy goggles on her, she gladly allowed us to put the cone back on. She still almost knocks us over or down the stairs but there’s a little give to it so the force is not as hard as the plastic cone. Very glad that I didn’t return this as I initially planned.

This is a very well made dog cone. Works very well on my dog. We had trouble with the vet's cone and I had to quickly take it off. Luckily I had bought this one just incase I needed to switch for some reason. It's padded and so much more comfortable for him. It has loops at the neck to thread their collar through so it's secure. It can be adjusted to fit several sizes. It even has a reflective edge for the dark. I'm just thrilled with it and I highly reccomend it.

Preso per il mio cane di taglia grande ed è stato efficace. Dopo pochi giorni si è abituato. Non è troppo pesante e fa il suo lavoro. Ha un certo costo ma la qualità c'è.

I like the cone, but it was a little small for my 12 pounds multi-poo. It didn't cover her mouth in full and she still could get to her lower body parts to bite into. When she she started liking and biting herself, I thought that she had allergies, but when I tried everything over the counter I could buy and nothing would help, I took to to the vet and apparently she had a really bad skin infection. He gave her a shot, prescription antibiotic, special shampoo to wash her every 5 days and I got her "Zesty Paws Allergy Immune Supplement for Dogs", special food for the dogs with skin problems...so she is getting better now: I even don't put the cone on her any more.By the way I ordered the next size of cone - medium, because I thought, that it will cover more, but had to return it, because it was huge on her.So I kept the small one - its better then nothing for the future needs.
