You can try, but it might be a bit too much oil. Frankly the best leave in product I came by was NIVEA (original) handcream. (go figure!...discovered it by accident putting too much on my face that got into my hair...and it did wonders to my hair as a leave in conditioner...must apply to wet hair though!)

Do you have to iron your hair out flat after you use the product? Because it doesn't state that anywhere in the instructions.

You can, but you shouldn't have to. Honestly, I don't think this product works as advertised. It's an overpriced conditioner that is thicker than most, but performs the same. I have thin hair with some damage from hair coloring, so adding extra heat is not really something I would do. My hair gets really frizzy, and this product does not solve issue. My hair still gets poufy and not silky smooth. So probably ironing would be necessary to make my hair smooth as well, but then I'd further damage my hair, which defeats the purpose of the product...(I guess you're in a similar shoe?)
