This thing is a BEAST!
I started a project decades ago scanning in old photos with a flatbed scanner, and it took forever. At some point life took over, and I ran out of time to finish the project. The old flatbed scanner was outdated and no longer compatible with my laptop, so I took the plunge and shelled out for this, which is worth EVERY penny. It comes with a CD, but I easily found the software online and downloaded it, and it worked perfectly with my laptop. It is VERY FAST and easy -- automatically detects proper cropping or orientation if you drop the picture in crooked or sideways, and it's easy with a couple clicks to change orientation on the computer before you save the files. The scan quality is perfect, and the file size is small enough that they uploaded to my photo site WAY faster than new digital photos from a camera or phone. I was able to quickly finish my scanning project after all these years and organize the old photos to be given to those pictured one day when I'm gone.

Excellent scanner, great quality, great value
This photo scanner is simple and very easy to use. The speed at which it scans photos and transfer to your computer is great. All photos scanned maintained the same or very similar quality. While the price may seem slightly high, it is a GREAT value for what you are receiving. After my father passed away we had to go through photos for the slide show, and this made it very easy. I've scanned over 3,000 photos with this scanner so far.

Easy to use and scans quickly
Very easy to use and you can adjust the picture quality after you scan it. Great to use and be able to scan photos to make a digital photo album.

Great quality and functions. Love this scanner.
Love this little scanner. Easy to use. Lots of functions to enhance old photos. The colors in the scans are really good. Well worth it if you have thousands of old photos to digitize. We previously spent $400 more than this one for a ScanSnap and It was terrible. Only a few things they could improve upon: a better physical guide so the photos feed straight and a feeder so you don’t have to feed the photos individually. These are really the only reasons for not giving it 5 stars. The quality and functions are 5 stars. It also is NOT a duplex scanner (doesn’t scan both sides if you have captions on the backside). However, once you start adding this feature you are into a more expensive scanner. Highly recommend this scanner. We love it!

Absolutely Worth Every Penny
I have a couple thousand photos to digitize and had "briefly" thought about using my flatbed scanner. I figured I'd be long gone before getting close to finishing this chore. One night I was thinking about this project at 3am and since I couldn't sleep I pulled out my phone and searched Amazon for photo input devices. Put this one in the wish list for the next day. After researching different models I finalized on this one and I am sure glad I did. It arrived next day and I immediately began using it. It is simply so very easy to use. So far I have processed 770 photos, each of which I use the included software to enhance the photos. Scanning the photos is extremely fast. The images are clean and as sharp as the photo. The included software blew me away as it does a very good job at fixing photo problems. Many old black and white photos from the 50s were faded and weirdly colored. The software Restore function made these look great. All in all I highly recommend this scanner. There is no way to digitize so many photos without a machine that is designed to do the job. This one fits the bill in every respect. It is priced at the lower end, which I like. I don't know what else could be added to warrant a higher cost. Revision next day..... Can I add an additional 5 stars to this review? I have scanned almost 1200 photos so far and am having a blast doing so. Unit just keeps on chugging along with no problems and the results never cease to amaze me. The old photos are coming alive. Sure is bring back memories!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SCANNER!
I would give this 10+ if I could. I took a chance and purchased this scanner because my old one stopped working. I paid twice as much for my old scanner than this scanner. I bought this scanner in November but did not open it until February. Living not too far from the recent fires in Southern California and knowing the fire victims lost no only their homes but so many precious memories, I decided to stop procrastinating and open the box and get started. Setting up was really easy. I started scanning right away. The speed at which to scan photos was very fast. I actually had to go to YouTube to learn how to save my photos to a flash drive. It was very easy. It took me days to scan over 4,000 photos and I still have more to scan. I had old Polaroid photos that were thick and they glided through with no problem. My old scanner could not handle the thickness of the photos. It even scanned newspaper articles, small wallet sizes, 10x13, and torn photos. I will enhance all the photos that have faded later.

Fast Scans with Stunning Clarity
This scanner is an absolute gem for anyone looking to digitize their photo collection. I have been taking apart my bulky scrapbooks and it has handled every photo flawlessly. Even older, cropped or slightly imperfect prints came out beautifully in digital form, with impressive clarity. It is fast, handling up to 50 photo scans before saving.

This little photo scanner works really well. It is easy to use and scans pictures fast (a few seconds per pic). It shipped very quickly. You can set the "prefix name" of pictures so if you are scanning from a trip or something you can set the initial name of the pictures and it will add a counter on the end so you don't have duplicate names. The scan resolution is 600dpi and it isn't perfect but the quality is decent and honestly absolutely worth it to get rid of the boxes of pictures we inherited from family. The scanner comes with a CD which is useless to most computers these days but the software can be downloaded from the Plustek website (last updated Apr 2021) and it has some nice features for cropping and optimizing image quality of the scanned images along with setting the scan location so pictures can be saved to cloud storage right away. Note a 600dpi 4x6 picture is between 5 and 13 MB (depending on colour and complexity of photo) Overall, extremely happy with this purchase, well worth the $ compared to an Epson Foto which is over twice the price!

Perdere 30 minuti a foto........avrei finito fra 20 anni!!!! Per me quindi consigliatissimo. Roberto.

When I started to look for a photo scanner I was going to spend £400 plus on a multi-feed scanner, I'm glad I didn't. As it's very unlikely the very small photos from 40 - 90 years old would have been able to go in the auto feeder. That said this is a great piece of kit and works very well. you have to feed each photo but take's in the photo once the photo reaches a certain point and scans very quickly. I have scanned over 1500 photos over about 10 hours and this includes filing them etc. far quicker than an all-in-one lifting and placing each one. I already have four other scanners 2No A4 BW both sheetfed, 1no A4 single sheet colour and 1no A3/A4 multi feed/single sheet colour. Three are Brother, one HP. All are very good but none does this job as well as the Plustek Some reviews complain about the software but it does what it says on the tin its simple to use and once you get into the rhythm very easy. There is a limit of 50 photo for each batch but all you have to do is save this batch in a location of your choice and start again you can scan 1 or fifty it doesn't matter and save each time. The quality is fine and when you consider the age of some of the photos you are likely to scan and the cameras our ancestors used. This scanner brings out a good image sometimes better than the original. I am very pleased with it. One note, this scanner does not scan negatives for that you would need a Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE which is about £300. It's been very good value for money especially when you consider the competition.
