Warm in winter

This was a gift for my son's 12th birthday. He's on the spectrum and Russia and geopolitics in general has become his hyper focus lately. He's learning the language, the history, and really wanted a hat like this too.I ordered this along with several other Russian items, and this was by far his favorite present, except for maybe his globe. But one of the best parts was the tag on the inside that says "Made in Russia". Even if it wasn't, it's a great addition.Also, the Soviet emblem on the front is a removable pin, and the part where it's attached is almost like a little pocket on the front of the hat, so the back of the pin isn't even on the inside of the hat.

I honestly didn't think that Communism would ever be in vogue again after that whole McCarthy thing....but it's making a comeback!! I have never really agreed with the politics but who can dispute their fashion sense? Vladimir Putin is one of the most fashionable men in communism today! The utility of communist fashion cannot be denied! Dinner with the President or hard work in the labor camps, Soviet fashion has you covered! Totally puts North Korea to shame! This hat is true to size, keeps my head warm, and it also hides my forehead tattoo I got to commemorate Mikhail Gorbachev (I know, I know.....I was young and dumb).While this hat is as functional as it is fashionable, I cannot guarantee that it will not get you on some sort of surveillance list somewhere in the US....so if you are making plans to fly anywhere this holiday season, I might hold off on getting this hat....otherwise you are really missing out on an opportunity to be a trailblazer in current fashion trends.

Not exactly like The Hunt for Red Oktober, but very nice.

I bought this because I like collecting things related to the Soviet Union, WW2, and the military. I also wanted this because it gets really cold in my area during winter, and I needed to keep my head warm. Be advised, the hat is kinda bushy and the pin is really hard to get in. But after some hard work and some elbow grease, you'll get the pin in and it makes a good addition to the hat. I wore this to school and got lots of compliments. I accidentally ordered a size too large but that's no problem because I'll eventually grow into it and I can use it for a long time. If you are looking into buying this, I really recommend it!

Ok so this is my first review on any item I've purchased on Amazon. I felt I needed a review on this particular product because it not only exceeded my expectations, but all in all is a very well, warm, and stylish winter hat. The pin came pre-installed, I've noticed people saying that it was not attached and you had to put it on yourself but this was not the case with mine. There was no funny smell and the material seemed of very high quality. My only complaint is the sizing, my head isnt the largest but even the medium seems a little snug. I'm sure with time the hat will give and become more spacious for my cranium but it isnt a breaking point for me. It's a very cool hat, looks good and serves its purpose.

A very nice hat - warm and looks great. I am actually looking forward to winter now that I have a hat that will protect me from the cold. The fit is about right and the seller detached the emblem so I can decide myself whether to fit it or not. The fitting instructions were clear and fitting will be easy. If anyone wants an attractive, warm winter hat at a reasonable price, this is the perfect answer.Although I realize that the hat emblem is based on the Russian KGB, it would be good to have an American alternative emblem to display. A shot of red and gold color at the front would be great without the 'stigma' of something that says 'Russian'. No one would ever mistake the origin of the hat, but an American emblem of some sort would make the item absolutely perfect.
