We have a water pump on a switch in our shed that we keep locked. We put it on the switch so we don't leave it on all the time. But we found that we would forget the keys to the shed in the house some times. This was highly annoying. So we replaced the flip switch on the inside of the shed with this timer switch on the outside of the shed. Now we can turn it on and use the water for up to an hour without needing to add more time. And we don't have to worry about forgetting it in the on position. Since the shed is down the hill 200+ feet from the house, it is nice to know we don't need to worry about the pump being left on by mistake nor do we need the keys to the shed if all we need is water access.

It works fine. The only MAJOR issue is its size. Its huge! It barely fits into a standard electrical box. If you have wire nuts, it will be a challenge. I measured it, there's only 3/8-inch clearance in the back and only 1/8 inch on each side. I replaced the wire nuts with butt slices and still, very tight fit. Purchase an extra deep junction box for this timer. Standard box will not fit.

I had a fan with only two wires (black for power in, white for the power out feeding the light.) T he metal junction box was grounded. I tried various digital timers but without three wires plus a ground they could not be installed. You need a deep junction box for this timer as it is large and you need room for the wires. It is a right fit but it looks great and is very solid as installed. You just turn the sleek knob to turn on the fan and set the time, and the mechanical timer counts down and then it turns off. It worked so well, I bought a spare and put it in the garage as people always leave them on. This kind of timer is increasingly difficult to find. Note that it contains two sets of trim pieces - I used the white ones. Looks very sleek and modern like something from Nest or Apple actually.

Easy to install

I ordered this product to, replace a no longer working spring timer, based on the good reviews but when I got it, I noticed that it has extra heavy 12ga wires coming out the side. Normally, this would be a good thing but they way they are positioned, they conflict with the sides of even an extra large electrical box. While positioning the switch inside the box one of the two wires popped out of its socket. I looked for any way to fasten it back in but the connection point is inaccessible without physically cutting into the switch.I purchased an Enerlites 2-hr digital switch instead which has worked fine. While leery of the spring timers, they are easier to find and manipulate in the dark and they better display the time remaining. Would just need one with better throught through wiring.

I use this for my kid's bathroom, they always leave the light on. Sometimes we don't see its on until night time and it has been on all day. This elemenates that problem. Now, they set it and use the area, it goes off with the set timer. I think I might add one to the lower level powder room as well, but this really is handy for the grandkids, they are always running and playing, so turning off the light isn't in the plan, LOL, now I have my own plan, thanks BN-LINK Countdown timer switch!

Very easy to read fan timer switch box with the proper sized turning handle. Some handles on these types of fan switch boxes are way too small to even grab or turn but this one is simply perfect. I would definitely recommend buying this product over any others out on the market. Manufacturers don't always make things like they used to but this is the next best newer version of what was.
