DULL DULL DULL
I bought some of these back in 2015 and they were great. I bought them again in March 2017 and they were so dull that they made big holes in my quilt so I threw them all out, was too late to return them by the time I used them. Figuring on that I just got a couple of bad boxes I bought the, again in September 2017. OMG those are dull too. Trying to poke them into the quilt was so difficult that my thumb hurt. I should have opened them as soon as I got them but once again took it for granted that they would be okay, once again too late to return them 😡

Good product
I have purchased so many boxes through this company for my daughter-in-lawand myself. We have been quilting and we both love these curved Safety Pins.As my quilts get larger, I'm sure I'll be purchasing more. I can't remember the totalamount of boxes that I've purchased and only came upon 4 pins that were dull. I waxedthem and they are working. Trust me they are sharp, my fingers are proof, because I'm notgood at opening safety pins.

Just say no.
Can't believe I am writing a review for casting pins but I have to! These are horrible. The point is blunt on most of them, making it hard to get them through the quilt sandwich. And they bend easily, meaning that if you are wilting in your home machine all the twisting and turning with make them pop open and even out of your quilt. Very disappointed. But also confused... how does a company mess up a safety pin??

Great for Medium Thickness Quilts
For anyone who does quilting, you know you need about 10,000,000,000 of these during the quilting phase. This is our favorite size and these pins seem to work just fine.If you're doing very thin quilts, the Size 1 pins work great and are cheaper and if you use heavy batting, you'll need the Size 3 pins, but for general use, Size 2 seems to work best for us.

Threw them away
I was looking forward to receiving these pins as I was preparing to start a new quilt. Upon receipt, I incorporated them into my large stash of quilting pins. Unfortunately these are very dull. I tried 30-40 different pins, but they all were unable to easily go through a quilt sandwich. I was intrigued and tried forcing a few different pins into the sandwich to see how much force it required to penetrate two layers of quilters cotton and batting. It was absolutely doable, however, not recommended. I found these to be of low quality, flimsy, and dull. I dug through my stash and threw them all away. I am sticking with my pins that are over 15 years old, quite sturdy, and still very sharp.Just a side note: in addition to quality issues another downside to these is that they are made of brass, a nonmetallic alloy. After pinning, I like to run a magnet over to ensure I have picked up all stray pins, not possible with these. Yes, I understand the description clearly says they are made of brass, but I thought I could meditate that fact had they been sharp and of quality.

Good for way more than quilting
I'm not a quilter, but I've found many, many other uses for these pins.*They make great row/stitch markers when knitting, since they are easily repositioned.*I use them when sewing to mark seamlines, darts, notches, etc on knits and other fabrics that can't be easily marked with a pen/pencil/chalk, i.e., anywhere you would use a tailor tack (which I am way too lazy to do).*I use them for securing underlining to the outer fabric, instead of basting the layers together. They are great for pin-basting and securing adjustments when fitting a garment on someone since they won't poke like a straight pin.*I place one of these pins to mark the right side of each pattern piece when the fabric right and wrong side looks the same.Other reviewers have noted that the pins aren't very "sturdy", and I know what they are talking about. Compared to traditional safety pins, these DO bend more easily. BUT, when fastening and unfastening a bunch of them, that is actually a plus, particularly if one has, ahem, more mature hands. I've purchased two big packages of these pins, and I keep a dish of them on my cutting table at all time.

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP
Dritz quality has really hit a low point - I don't think these pins would go thru melted butter. I have my "original" Dritz curved basting pins from a few years ago and they are amazing. This is the second time I have ordered these pins and I will toss these into the give away bin like I did the others. Sad, Dritz used to be the leader in sewing notions.

Perfect size for most quilts.
These are sturdy pins, not too big for most crib size and up quilts - For me, 1 pack will do for quilting a crib size quilt on my regular sewing machine, 2 packs allow me to pin a throw size quilt all at once. These are nickel plated brass and won't rust on your quilt if they happen to get wet and then sit longer than you planned, like steel ones would.

Excellent basting pins
Nice feel to these, smooth glide, flexible but sturdy. Like them better than other brand I have. Size is perfect for basting large quilts. Also useful for pinning heavier sari fabrics.
