Good product, easy to take
I did notice some increased gas when I first started this product, but that's the only side effect I've had from it.It arrived well labeled and sealed. This is from Jarrow, which is become my preferred brand in any supplement. I find that they have consistently high quality and good products. This is a loose powder in a standard supplement jar. It does come with a little scoop to get it out with.It tastes mildly sweet. When I put it in a bottle of water along with my normal water enhancer, I can't ever taste it at all. It dissolves with a quick easy shake or swirl. I don't ever have to use a spoon or anything to stir It. Usually I can leave the lid off my water and just swirl it around and it will dissolve. The product dissolves quickly and easily even in cold water.I find it very easy to take.

High diabetic readings? There may be a reason!
Sometimes you need a little help when having high morning readings but low before dinner. When diabetic for a long time then a change in meds does not get reading to a normal level. Ask your doctor first but most do not like supplements, but I was eating oatmeal for a long time and bad carbs for a Blood Type O so i told the doc I need to get my gut back in order so used and lost 2 belt sizes that is what the bad carbs do keeping you out of the norm, but ask before and it is better than the expensive stuff and no side effect for me that is like others using the expensive stuff.

HP inulin plus FOS
Updated: Yes it does still have Orafti Synergy 1, so it still has both long and short chain inulin.Recent scientific studies indicate that HP inulin reverses non-alcoholic fatty liver, greatly reduces the chances of getting type 2 diabetes, and may reduce the chances of getting some cancers. This contains both long chain inulin (also known as HP inulin) and short chain FOS. For those of us who have been looking unsuccessfully for HP inulin, this is about as close as you can come to it at the current time. The company who makes this, Beneo Orafti, is the same company that makes HP inulin, but for some unknown reason they simply refuse to sell pure HP inulin to ordinary customers. They seem to only provide it to commercial customers and research scientists only. This is a mixture of HP inulin and FOS. The problem is that while you can eventually build up a tolerance for HP inulin and eventually get to where you can take the same amount of HP inulin the research scientists used in their studies, and thereby get the same benefits, you simply cannot take that much FOS without some severe issues with flatulence, etc. From what I have read, this is about 80 to 90% HP inulin and about 10 to 20% FOS, which is a good thing. It means you can take quite a bit of it before the FOS becomes overwhelming. I'm currently up to about 10 grams of this per day.I also like it because it tastes good and it mixes easily in cold water, eventually becoming clear water without any cloudiness or any residue left behind. So, it is fully water soluble, which is a good thing.Until they make 100% pure HP inulin available to the general public, this will just have to do for now.

Good product, horrible packaging
The product itself seems fine but I'm looking for an alternative because the packaging is so bad. They give you a small 2" scoop (which I only knew about from another review). But the bottle is like a vitamin bottle. So as you get to the bottom, unless you happen to have a 2 year old with small hands nearby you'll have hard time scooping it out. Very poorly thought out.
