I use it during the day under my makeup if I fall asleep without washing my face - then have to wash & scrub in the morning, and this makes my skin so soft and hydrated!! Not greasy at all, & a little goes a LONG way - it's nice and thick so don't over-apply. My friend has this on after her shower & her skin looked radiant & dewy, & this is all she had on!! So I bought it and love it. Will definitely be a long term part of my skin care. Review: Can’t go without it - I’ve purchased this many times. I have super sensitive skin, that is acne prone, with rosacea. This calms my skin, helps with the redness, leaves my skin feeling moisturized and more even-toned in the morning. I also live in Colorado, where it’s crazy dry. I’ve tried to find alternatives that are more affordable, but haven’t found any. This is a must for me!

Decadent treat for severely sensitized & irritated skin
Skincare junkie & cosmetic chemist here. Despite a couple semi-comedogenic ingredients & wince-inducing price tag, Tatcha’s Indigo overnight cream is a must-have in my arsenal for moisture barrier emergencies, primarily because it’s one of frustratingly few skincare products I can use that doesn’t burn like hellfire when my skin is super damaged/irritated (e.g. sunburned, over-exfoliated, cracking from dryness, angry about retinol, etc). This contains palmitic acid & cetyl alcohol, both of which have a 2/5 rating on the comedogenic scale (and the latter a 2/5 on the irritation scale), making it mildly-moderately likely to clog ingredient-sensitive pores. While I typically wouldn’t put these anywhere near my extremely-acne-prone face, I give this one about a weeklong pass to coax my skin down off the ceiling in an emergency. Even the most basic, simple drugstore moisturizers, including those most rec’d by dermatologists (IYKYK), feel like lemon juice on an abrasion. I first realized this didn’t sting like all the others after a stint of AHA overuse a few years ago. I didn’t buy it again until recently, when I started ~feeling the burn~ after my Accutane dose was increased. If you know of Accutane, you likely also know it causes extreme lizard-in-a-tundra-windstorm dryness (and a bunch of other gnarly side effects I won’t go into here…). And once again, I found this to be the only moisturizer I could use without eye-watering pain. *Please note that I cannot guarantee that this would be the case for anyone else — it’s very possible I’m a weird outlier here. It’s very rich with a cushiony, creamy texture reminiscent of pudding/custard, a thick liquid with basically zero “fluff” to it. It smells kind of bitter(?), but I’ll happily take that as validation that it’s genuinely fragrance-free. It spreads fairly easily and goes on fairly thick. I’m assuming it’s sold as a PM cream because it’s more noticeable on the skin than one made to be lightweight or matte (it may look a little sweaty, especially on oilier complexions), but I see no glaring reason against using it AM and/or PM, especially if you need it. Something uniquely respectable about this stuff is that the “serum in cream” claim actually holds up. Most moisturizers aim to be both hydrating & occlusive, but should really be layered with a more hydrating serum or a more occlusive barrier balm to reach its full potential. The Indigo cream should not leave your face feeling tight, uncomfortable, dehydrated, or dry, even when used alone/not layered with other products, as it both hydrates & moisturizes without immediately evaporating. Thanks to plenty of soothing & otherwise-beneficial “goodies” on the ingredient list, it does also go beyond being just a good moisturizer (see INCIDecoder.com for a full breakdown). I’d easily recommend this to those with an unlimited skincare budget and perpetually dry, sensitive skin that is not particularly acne-prone as a lovely, luxe night cream. I would not recommend stretching your budget to accommodate this unless you loved a sample and are desperate. I would also be inclined to steer those with skin that is oily and/or requires less coddling toward a different product, as this is really most helpful for dryness & sensitivity. For others like me who are easily acne-prone but need an “emergency moisturizer,” I’d urge you to start with a sample (or at least a smaller container) to see how it works for you before committing to a nearly-$100 pot, and to limit use to something like one week per month until you know how you react to it. I’m personally glad to have it, and hope that it can save someone else’s skin too.

I ALWAYS come back to this
Part of me wishes I never found this product, because it's so expensive and I always come back to it, BUT I have extremely dry and sensitive skin. Every time I try to find a cheaper alternative, nothing ever compares to how well this works with my skin. A lot of moisturizers somehow dry out my face more and have the opposite effect, giving the appearance of wrinkles. This doesn't do that, it has a velvet-like texture and really seals in the moisture overnight. I wake up with soft and plump skin, it also helps a lot with eliminating the redness during hormonal breakouts! I even get compliments on how glowy my face is when I am actively using it. It's my holy grail moisturizer and you get what you pay for! And it's a plus that it layers well with my serums.

Night repair for face
Bought this to assist with my skin that is sensitive and breaks out easily it has helped with keeping it moist. The cream is not thick has a good scent and not much is needed to moisturize the skin.

I can't rave about this product enough. It is a bit pricier for skincare but so worth it. I've tried to look for dupes, but there really aren't any. It's a serum in moisturizer, so the formula is unique and effective. I use this as a treatment for deeper hydration, and it works so well for my dry and sensitive skin.

This cream was not good enough for dry and sensitive skin although I have heard it works well for normal skin.
