Bluebird Candy!
This is an amazing product! This is actually our third order in three weeks! We are feeding our bluebirds who are nesting and they are gobbling them down as fast as we can put them out! We are also getting migratory Orioles that love them. Our Titmice and Carolina wrens also eat them, though are not as greedy as the bluebirds! Our first order I bought just 2200 and they were gone in 7-8 days. Our second order was 4400 and they were gone in 10 to 12 days. Our third order is 8800 and I’m hoping it will last a little bit longer! I store our meal worms in a three drawer wheeled plastic cart I got at Target inexpensively. The bedding is oat bran and I use apples as the water/moisture source. They stay perfectly healthy in the set up. I only have two minimal complaints. One is that as fast as we are going through them I wish they did a bulk discount! The second is figuring out when they’re going to arrive has been a little tricky. I get them delivered to my office (so our dogs don’t get killed by the crazy delivery drivers!) and the shipping always says it’s going to take about 7 to 8 days. All orders have ended up arriving about the 5 to 6 day mark. Because of this, my first two orders ended up getting delivered on the weekend and put in our outdoor mailbox. UPS tracking on them has been dismal. They have done practically no updates until they arrive. The second order got delivered on a Saturday and I didn’t realize it until Sunday morning. They sat in the mailbox at almost freezing temperatures all night long. I was sure they were going be dead by the time I got to them on Sunday. Wrong! They were all alive and perfect! We have had no dead worms in any of the orders and while I did not count them I think 2200 is accurate! I strongly recommend this supplier - they are wonderful!!!

Healthy, Full Count, Excellent product
I ordered these at least a month ago. Every one was alive when I received it and I still haven't found a dead one. There were definitely 1000+ mealworms. A few extra small bugs were included but it didn't bother me to pull them out and release them outdoors. They are very small compared to what my dragon is used to eating so I just tripled his daily quantity. However, buying 30 large mealworms for $6 from pet store compared to 1000 small mealworms for $14 is no competition. They were shipped well and quickly. The box was aerated and the worms were protected. I dumped them into a medium Tupperware (with airholes poked in the lid). I filled the Tupperware with mealworm bran flakes (also ordered from amazon) which protects them, gives them space from each other and feeds them all at once. A month later, I still have about 300 mealworms left. This was a very high quality, high value purchase and I will buy from them again! I SUPPOSE THEY TASTE YUMMY. OUR DRAGON CERTAINlY ENJOYS THEM AND IS VERY HEALTHY!

Update - mix of supers and mealies.
Edit: I was super excited about this order and starting my mealworm farm. Well, it turns out about 60% of what I got were supers. Not sure why they pupated fairly quickly as I was not separating as you should for supers. Nearly all of the beetles emerged without wings and died a day or two later. I now have 4-5 Morio beetles and crap ton of dead beetles. If you are looking just for feeders, this might be a decent supplier. If you are looking to start a mealworm farm, don't waste your time with this vendor. I'm super disappointed in the money and time I put into a bunch of dead beetles. Started birding this summer, on a whim at the pet store I bought some mealworms. I kept a few and dumped the rest in my platform feeders. I figured them would eat up bird waste, the frass would fall right through - and every once in a while a bird would find one. I decided to give the birds a treat and see what they thought. I grabbed a shot glass and tossed in the few I set aside. When my 2 daily wrens came to visit they went wild. I did a little research and most of my birds that visit at least like if not love mealworms. No way I'm going back to the pet store, this is a job for amazon... found a bunch of sellers some good reviews, some awful. I didn't know what to expect, so I ordered from two sellers. This is more USPS than the seller, but the other shipper is 4 states away and this came across the country at least 1 day before the others. There were a few deads, prob no more than 50 out of an order of 2100 - the other seller had a higher price for only 1000. Most exciting is my reason for ordering this quantity was to start a small farm. Well, when I dumped the bag out to sort - there was a TON of molting cast-offs - these guys had been busy on their 4-day journey. However, the treasure was finding 9 pupua - 1 looks like it *might* have went in the bad that way. The other 8 had obviously JUST changed. Actually I was working (from home), when the package arrived so I had a little time to dump everything in the container I was using until I got off work and sort out any deads. First look I found 3, 1 a little darker, and one still had exoskeleton from molting still on it. It still had some hop to it. I didn't notice the rest until later and they were bright white, so I wouldn't be surprised if they fed and pupated. The best thing I like about this order is the age mix of the worms. From some tiny ones probably 2-3 weeks old up to some giant ones. This will sustain letting some pupate and feeding a lot to the birds over the next few weeks. My ONLY question to the seller, do you use cleaner bugs? I just happened on another sellers website last night that mentioned they use them and are harmless and beneficial because they eat dead worms and molted skin. Well I have 1 black beetle looking worm, probably about half the size of a pupua - and he sure moves FAST. I kept him for now as he is paying no mind to my meal worms, is this a cleaner bug or just a stray that hitched a ride and I need to get rid of.

All mealworms were alive and well
I used this as a treat for my teenaged chickens who I do not allow to free range due to too many predators. the mealworms came in good condition but half of them had managed to escape through the airholes while the package was sitting in my locked p.o. box for three days. Expert tip: don't leave them in your p.o. box. They are small little insects who will find their way out.
