Great gift, help with first use
Worked so well. Buy extra clay. Our granddaughter was delighted. You will need to help the first time a child uses it, but then they are off to the studio!

Fun and almost foolproof.
My 8-year-old granddaughter threw three successful bowls on her first tries. Fourth one not so lucky. But experience tells this Grandma that finding immediate success on a potter's wheel is not so easy. Video is very helpful, making pottery-making lots of fun,.

Great gift or date night idea
Fun for kids and adults, can be really messy, but just prepare a lot of covers.Don’t really like that it’s made of plastic so it’s slightly flimsy, but overall great fun gift and activity idea!

Pottery
Bought as a gift. It was difficult for my child to use and she got very frustrated that she could not create things. Overall a little messy but that comes with doing pottery.

Suggest age evaluation
This was a gift to our 8 year old grandson. He had a real interest in learning to throw pottery so it seemed like a fit. He may be a little young for it and I think even the package suggests an older age. It definitely required supervision for him and help setting up and reading instructions. A video link was included and very helpful. Nealy a must to review this video as it would have been trickier without it. It worked pretty well but our grandson was very patient and listened well to instructions. More attention deficit children would probably be difficult. I had some pottery experience so that helped a lot. The clay provided is tricky to work with but we managed. Read carefully. I think it's best for much older patient children. It did work though and he managed to turn a cute little vase.

So much fun!
Easy to build, purchased for my 8 year old but we all enjoyed it! Including my 12 year old, definitely recommend! Messy but worth it.
