Sharp, lightweight & affordable..perfect EDC
Awesome knife, highly recommend. Blade profile is perfect for every day carry. Blade/handle is super lightweight. Price is great..definitely worth it! I got the green color, one of my new favorites.

Awesome little knife!!
Awesome little pocket knife, I carry it daily! It comes very sharp out of the box which I was appreciative of. It’s not too heavy as to weigh down your pocket but does not feel cheap either. Easy mechanism to open and close, stiff blade. Bottom line, for the price, I would recommend this product.

Really nice EDC knife
I bought this knife because of an article that stated that it was a good inexpensive knife to put in the glove compartment of my car. When the knife came, I looked at it and said no way was this a knife to just sit and hardly be used. It is light, the blade was very sharp, (although I made it sharper) and it opened easily one handed with either hand. This is a knife to be used a lot, and though it will not be my EDC, (I have another Gerber for that) it is going to be by my recliner where I can use it for cutting food, wrappers etc. while I am watching TV.

Surprisingly good for a $20 knife.
I'm a fan of Gerber multitools; I own the MP400, MP600BN, and an MP600 Bladeless. But so far as knives, the only one I've had before this one was the Paraframe Mini which my son got as a cub scout, but didn't yet really have the hand strength to work the lock. So I traded him for an Opinel No. 6 and took the knife for myself. With the Zilch, I had specific things I was looking for in a one-hand opening knife. I wanted it to be insanely light weight. At 2.15oz this fit the bill and in my pocket I don't even know it's there. I wanted a guard and this has that. I wanted an absolute ton of grip, even if my hands are wet. The Zilch doesn't look like it would be all that gippy, but it absolutely is. It just won't slip no matter what. I also wanted a fairly compact size. Most modern folding knives are either folding machetes (slight exaggeration) or they don't provide a solid grip. This one is small enough to be unassuming but still has the very tactical grip of the larger knives. The knife is a bit of an odd duck. Gerber has always been good at being innovating withy their tools (sometimes taking the risk to completely strike out on a product). That's what I needed: a knife that otherwise doesn't seem to exist from any other company. A compact, super light weight, super grippy, knife with a slim and slicy and very pointy blade. I also wanted it to be very cheap so if I lose it I won't cry about it. This is literally the only knife that meets all the criteria. My hands are large. 90% of XL gloves are too small for me. But I can easily manipulate this knife with no difficulty whatsoever. I've seen people complain that it's not for big hands. But I have NBA hands and it's great in my hands so I don't know what's wrong with these people. There was really no break-in time. It was smooth as butter right from the get go. It was also sharp as heck. Every knife I've ever bought, I've had to strop it to get it to what I consider SHARP. I didn't need to do anything to this knife. A few people mentioned the pocket clip bending. I've had no issues whatsoever. If I did, well, it's screwed on so just take it off and bend it back - it's not rocket science. The steel is 7CR17MOV. That's perfectly adequate for getting through an entire day, or week, of cutting up boxes or whatever you want to cut. I'm not a knife wimp who needs supersteel - I know how to sharpen a knife. 7CR keeps the price down. I paid $20 bucks. You can't beat that with a stick!

Great buy.
Great choice, I love the light weight handle and quality steel blade. Everything is tight and feels like it will last.

Light use only...
I had high hopes for this little knife and was intrigued with the reasonable price point. I love the size and shape of the blade for EDC... but this knife is very flimsy. It has way more flex and twist than I am comfortable with. This knife would never stand up to any real use... but is okay for extremely light and infrequent use I guess. Would rather pay more and get a more sturdy knife. Just my .02 cents though... Still think Gerber is a solid bet in most cases.
